When I try to idle my second account, steam tells me: "Could not connect to steam network". I have 2 copies of my steam folder, in each of them an MKLinked steamapps folder And the program is set up like this: With easy sandbox mode.
mklink /d C:\Users\Kev\Desktop\steam2\steamapps ill try that but i doubt it will work... this is fuckin bull shit! 2 complicated ya nope dont work ill give someone 2mannco keys if they go on team viewer with me and can help me
Relax, man! It looks like you're mistyping the symbolic link command (leaving out "steamapps" between /D and your folder path) After you change directory to the folder you want to place the link into, type: mklink /D steamapps "C:\users\kev\desktop\steam2\steamapps" If that doesn't work, it may be that it doesn't like you making a link to the desktop (in which case move the folder somewhere else), or you're not running cmd.exe in administrator mode. Here's an example. I made my alt steam account folders in C:\Idle, and my main steam installation is C:\Steam (I didn't make a second copy of steamapps) You can keep your Mann Co. Keys. No charge.
Hey Moussekateer, would it be easy for you to add a sorting option by clicking on the title of each column in the drop log view ? If not, nvm... your GUI is still awesome ^^
When I start idling with any of the 4 accounts I have, I get these two error messages on steam: "You do not have enough disk space available to run this game. Please free up some disk space and then try again." "Could not connectto Steam network." This could be due toa problem with your Internet connection, or with the Steam network. Please visit www.steampowered.com for more info." I tried deleteing clientregistry.blob. Steam would update (so it CAN connect to steam servers?), but then when saying "Connecting to user xxx..." those errors would pop up. I also have around 140gb of free space available. I have set up everything following the video tutorial someone posted earlier. It worked on my Vista 32-bit machine, but not on this vista 64-bit... Can someone add me to steam and mayby go trough the settings with me on this, just using team wiever or so........I can`t figure out hwy it doesnt work. My steam profile url: http://steamcommunity.com/id/76561197968465515/

I can't be the only one hesitant to put my login details here am I?
I can't be the only one hesitant to put my login details here am I?
you can check the source code of the application if you are so hesitant about it :)
I can't be the only one hesitant to put my login details here am I?
Alternatively you could just login to each respective account and set 'Remember my password'.
Goddam, this was an asshole to set up, but I finally got it. Thanks for the program, I appreciate it .
Can you add to options launching steam's in /low priority?
I will add this when I can figure out a non-hacky way to implement this (Windows doesn't like being passed the /low parameter through command line so I would have to write temp bat files somewhere)
Hey Moussekateer, would it be easy for you to add a sorting option by clicking on the title of each column in the drop log view ? Also, any possibility to make "Drop log colour" with random RGB while adding account? Or just add more variants (looks like there only 10 with empty). upd: yes, i saw i can change color manually, but it take alot of time with huge acc's amount
hi Moussekateer I had some ideas for new "features", I will try to make a list and a WIP image of the updates that I'm thinking of. (the WIP images might not be great) The updates should help people managing their accounts (specially if they have a lot) It may be a bit tricky to do, but one can dream . So this is basically to let you know that a future feature request is coming.
The server keeps spamming that I don't have sv_cheats set to 1, and I'm not getting any items. How do I set it?
The server keeps spamming that I don't have sv_cheats set to 1, and I'm not getting any items. How do I set it?
having sv_cheats set to 0 or 1 will not effect drop rates.
having sv_cheats set to 0 or 1 will not effect drop rates.
But it keeps spamming that it cannot set up the server and many of the variables because it's not set to 1... "Can't use cheat...."
I must be the only one here that doesn't know how to set this up. It's making my head spin trying to figure this thing out. Copy steam folder somewhere then copy steamapps folder somewhere DON'T COPY YOURS SOMEWHERE BAD STUFF WILL HAPPEN then open a second folder with administrator cmd and type blah blah blah. I have two accounts right now, but I might make two more. I also have the full version of sandboxie. So where exactly do I start? What do I do first? I saw the readme but it's like C++ to me. I haven't got a clue where to start!
Alright I fixed the issue with the drop logs, but now yet another obstacle has popped up. Now I can only run one game, because sandboxie won't load my alt's correctly. Keep getting the message 'SBIE2102 File is too large to copy into sandbox - team fortress 2 materials.gcf'

I'm curious... What happens if the software crashes and you restart it if the idle accounts already booted up? Will it still log the items after your software has restarted?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JS2w6WxsJGg&t=4m5s
Saw the video, now it's all working perfectly! Everythings neat and organised and working like it should. I even made two more premium accounts! I would love to go up to 9 one day, but not until I get more money. And Christ that whole mlink thing is difficult to understand. Whenever I see the word 'parameters' I run for ze hills.
Nevermind, I found everything out regarding the item logs, thanks!
Keys. No charge.
okay well what i did was just ignore the steam2 thing and just have 1 steam apps from my steam1 folder. so when i tried linking steam apps from steam1 into the new folder with that code you gave me (but i put steam 1 instead of steam 2) it didnt work. just said soemthing about it already existing? wut? steam apps was not in this new folder at all? mklink /D steamapps "C:\users\kev\desktop\steam1\steamapps" ok so the picture didnt turn up to good but this is what it says in the cmd Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600] Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. C:\Users\Kev>mklink /D steamapps "C:\users\kev\desktop\steam1\steamapps" Cannot create a file when that file already exists. C:\Users\Kev>mklink /D steamapps "C:\users\kev\desktop\steam1\steamapps" Cannot create a file when that file already exists. ok wow now i see what is going wrong. i thought u just had to have the folder out and it would work. i have to type something with the new folder into the cmd? like what should i paste in if my new folder is the exact same thing but just steam 2. so im trying to link C:\Users\Kev>mklink /D steamapps "C:\users\kev\desktop\steam1\steamapps" into C:\Users\Kev\Desktop\steam2? ok damn just read your thing again and i think im still wrong. im helpless :( seriosuly dont know wuts goin on
ok wow now i see what is going wrong. i thought u just had to have the folder out and it would work. i have to type something with the new folder into the cmd?
Yes, after you open cmd.exe, you must use the "change directory" command to specify the folder you want. Just having the folder open doesn't work, as you've discovered. The change directory command is "cd <directory path>" C:\Users\Kev> cd <path of your alt steam account> <----- this is the command to "change directory" C:<path of your alt steam account>mklink /D steamapps "C:\users\kev\desktop\steam1\steamapps" <---- command to create symbolic link inside the directory After looking at your path, is Steam1 (which is apparently on your desktop) the alternate Steam account you're trying to set up? If so, you've been typing the wrong directory the whole time. And you should probably move it off the desktop. The symbolic link command should use the path of your main Steam installation. Where is your main Steam installed? I'm guessing you need to: C:Users\Kev> cd "C:users\kev\desktop\steam1" C:Users\Kev\Desktop\steam1>mklink /D steamapps <location of your main steamapps folder>

Hey, having trouble, getting an error every time I click Start Idling, seems every account wont idle. My settings: I believe I have a separate folder for each account, and all 3 steam accounts are loading and running, but once I click idle, it get an error. Any tips? BTW, this does look like a great program :)
Thank you Moussekateer for this wonderful tool. It works great! PS: It would be helpful to mention placing the steam.exe in each account folder in the tutorial on github. PS2: Isn't it possible to symlink the structure underneath each account as well? I'm taling about these directories: team fortress 2 -platform -tf -hl2.exe -bin -hl2 They are automatically created once you start sandboxing and take up about 800MB.

Then run the steam instance unsandboxed first to make sure the gcf is upto date.
Thank you Moussekateer for this wonderful tool. It works great! First let me start off and say using your tool it was a hell of alot faster than setting up several .bat files, but while my problem might not be because of the tool I was hoping I can get some help so that I can start using it to the fullest. Even though TF2 loads up correctly without a sandbox, inside a sandbox upon starting TF2 after saying "Both Convars must be marked FCVAR_REPLICATED for linkage to work <r_VehicleViewDampen>" then the "maxplayers set to 24" Then it gets the hl2.exe has stopped working. But I will say this much that the program made it more simpler to get to that point. Additionally:I don't know if this is the problem but this part confused me from this( http://facepunch.com/threads/1102531 ) tutorial "1.Make a copy of Steam without the steamapps folder for each account. a.Decide your main steamapps folder. Generally it should be the one with most games. b.If you want, you can move the steamapps folder somewhere else and rename it (mine is D:\Games\Steam for example). c.Remove all the other steamapps folders." What I did is make a mklink of the entire steamapps folder and put one into each duplicate steam folder along with the other contents. The mklink goes to the overall steamapps folder with all the gcf files and not a specific user account folder. I didn't delete or modify the original steamapps folder. What confuses me the most is substep c. since it makes it seem like either I should've mklinked a user account folder or I may of had more than one overall steamapps folder. Did I do this step correctly? I would appreciate any help Additionally:I tried the "Start TF2" button to start it without the extra launch options and even though the resolution+windowed stayed the same it did get as far as the Valve splash page "Valve in back of head logo" then crashed with the hl2.exe has stopped working error.
Hey guys, a rather what would seem simple question, I got everything working no worries...I got 8 accounts, using sandboxie and tf2idle, one question: I can only get 4 premium accounts though, 2 on my credit card and 2 with my paypal, how do I get more with my current payment methods? [editline]17th April 2012[/editline] I think I found an answer if you live in australia...the prepaid credit card! omg - amazing! =) https://www.everydaymoney.com.au/edm/wps/portal/money/!ut/p/b1/04_SjzQyMbMwN7cwt9SP0I_KSyzLTE8syczPS8wB8aPM4t0NzZ1MXExNDNydAp0NPH1cfZxMQnwMDMxM9YNT8_RzoxwVASXt3-U!/
