If you run the accounts on a server you can get down to about 8 mbs.
You can get steam and a text version of tf2 down to 8mb?
App does not support special characters in passwords. If you have a "%" in your password the app pretty much has a stroke.
Change backpack link for tf2b "http://tf2b.com/tf2/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx".
Is encryption necessary? Also can anyone tell me how to lower the CPU usage so I'm able to run more idles? I've searched this thread and someone explained how all the idle accounts can be joined into one server but can anyone elaborate on this? My first post is a question, embarrassing I know...

I will add these two fixes as soon as I can and push an update out.
Moussekateer, hope you get well soon. Maybe you can also find a way so idle accounts can join the local server of other idle accounts and save memory usage that way?
Moussekateer, hope you get well soon.
Heh, he won't get well soon. Just look! His avatar is a ghost! That means that he has a terminal illness that will strike him dead within the hour! He's dead! But yeah, do that server joining thing, that would be a nice feature. Or release the source so I can add it myself.

Edit the account you want as the server and give it the relevant custom launch options and then change the main launch options so the other accounts connect to it (launch options defined in an account's settings will always override the main launch settings).
Or release the source so I can add it myself.
The source has been there since release.

Nice program though. I've been running into memory issues but I hope the server change should work at least. I'm running Win7 32bit with 4GB of RAM and 10 alt accounts, but I have a 9GB pagefile... does Sandboxie not use it by default or something?

Oh, had another issue. Is there a way to abort queued startups without killing the program itself? Terminating Sandboxes only seems to kill the ones currently running. I have a 180 second delay and accounts will keep popping up after I abort in the midst of an idle startup (apparently the server is on an older version despite being up to date??) until I kill TF2Idle.exe (v1.3.0)
Now I can't buy TF2 accounts any longer.. any workaround for this?
Now I can't buy TF2 accounts any longer.. any workaround for this?
Cant buy accounts? What do you mean? Does it decline your payment?
Yes it does.. I have PayPal and Credit card declined. Oh and they aren't maxed.
TF2 item drops is not showing any drops . it says it has started logging... i requested a steam api key using the main account which is also as server, and entered into tf2idle settings... but no joy.. anyone got any suggestions to try fix this issue. Items are dropping though when i check the backpacks online..
Moussepoot is awesome once again
The idle clients are spectating... will i need them to join teams to make them show up in the item drops..

Logging works fine here and my idle clients are spectating too.
Arr okay.. so dont need to join teams for it to work... i cant work out whats wrong :(.. as to why its not displaying any of the drops
Downloading the new version, since I'm still on 1.1.1. Looking forward to even more advanced idling :D Thanks for your work.

I was planning on a system that allows this but it's a lot of work and won't be in the upcoming release.
"+password serverpassword +connect serverip" For anyone wondering.
Can you paste an example here of what i would set in the specific account launch options? When i connect to that account from another account do i copy/paste the default launch options of TF2idle and simply add +password serverpassword +connect serverip? (i already figured out the IP that is being used but i think by default TF2idle doesn't set passwords? Another question i have is related to the GUI. I created 20 additional idle accounts today and i noticed that i can't read the text on the buttons anymore since they are getting squeezed in a fixed window size. Can you add a scrollbar to the new version? How do other people with 100+ accounts do this? Multiple TF2idle installs?

Paste those launch options into the menu and add +password serverpassword to the options where serverpassword is some string you want to password protect the server. Back in the settings menu add +password serverpassword +connect serverip to the launch options where serverpassword is the server password and serverip is the ip address of the server account. That should be it, just launch up the server account first and start the clients after. Regarding the gui issue, can you show me a screenshot of what it looks like?
Thanks Moussekateer, that worked! Result = Server account 456 MB mem usage, Client account 175 MB mem usage. I solved my GUI issue by going into the ini file and changing the box and font size.
Are there any programs similar to Sandboxie that are free(in the sense that i can make more than 3 accounts) and work with this?
I solved my GUI issue by going into the ini file and changing the box and font size.
You could also do this from the settings menu for future reference.
Are there any programs similar to Sandboxie that are free(in the sense that i can make more than 3 accounts) and work with this?
I'm not aware of any programs with similar functionality to Sandboxie but I'm sure they exist. Although TF2Idle is written with Sandboxie in mind, so it wouldn't interact with it without some rewrite of the code.
Update: Turns out when i join a local server after a while the clients get kicked for idling too long. How can i prevent that?
Update: Turns out when i join a local server after a while the clients get kicked for idling too long. How can i prevent that?
Oops. Put +mp_idledealmethod 0 in the server launch options
Sup guys, Today I tried this thing out, and went start idling, it shows a box and says Invalid Box Parameter "/Steam exe -name- password- applaunch 440....etc. So I clicked Idle Unsandboxed(IDK what that means==''), it's connected but 2 mins later it says Steamath: Client (name) received failure code 8. Littlehelp: Info: I have 4GB RAM. I have 1 Premium Account I have the free/trial version of sandbox(which IDK what to do) And I have money(which can buy Premium if I get this working thx) EDIT: Ok I just fixed it a moment ago by doing API,rename stuff. It was idling for a while(with 1 account). Then I closed it(don't ask why), and opened it again and all the information in the setting/Add Account was gone! So i had to type it all up again, and update GCF and when I tried to Idle, it just updates TF2 ==''. Can someone make a video tutorial for this? It would really help :) or Step by Step Instructions which actually make sense? Thx -ZokunuZer0
