Someone please make some better icons though because all of his are so ugly ;~;
but... these icons are beautiful
I don't like them only because there were originally different icons that looks better but he changed them before releasing it. I personally don't like these icons in comparison
Right when Sandboxie was causing troubles to my computer, you're a fucking genius and I love you forever. Why do people keep saying "I don't have multiple accounts?" MAKE MORE ACCOUNTS.
I got a total of 3 accounts. But I only use 2 to idle
Is it really worth it? I mean, to buy another copy of TF2?
TF2 is free. Idle until it has valuable stuff, pay $5, transfer to main or sell some of it and get $5 back.
I've got ten premium accounts :v:
Cant wait to get my set of angel wings.
Cant wait to get my set of angel wings.
-snip I got my facts all wrong-
Drunken_f00l's program actually toyed with steam to trick it into giving you more drops
wat. really?
wat. really?
no
uh ok. so what exactly makes this any different from f00l's program again?
Wait a tic, what's all this talk about API keys? Because I don't really understand what that's asking for and if I could get / already have one. [editline]8th February 2012[/editline]
uh ok. so what exactly makes this any different from f00l's program again?
This literally launches TF2 on your computer, which Valve does not care about. f00l's program gave your info to the program, which... idled or some shit, I don't know, but this is basically glorified batch scripts. calm down.
uh ok. so what exactly makes this any different from f00l's program again?
Fool's program: Ran a fake TF2 client and tricked Steam into thinking you were playing TF2, when you were not. It also had security holes that could have allowed for invalid purchases to go through. This: Automatically runs a true TF2 client in textmode on ItemTest, and can also support the use of Sandboxie to run multiple instances of TF2 in textmode. It only automates things you could have just done yourself.
Am i doing it wrong, the sandbox works in "the old way"
Am i doing it wrong, the sandbox works in "the old way"
First off, revoke your API key and get a new one. You shouldn't be sharing yours. Secondly invalid box name parameter means you didn't input a valid sandboxie box name in that account's settings, check that
What do I put in domain name to get an API key?
Holy shit 10 accounts?!
mate, go big or go home...
-snip-
Thanks for this tool, I've been using it for some time (since the command line tool) and both version worked great. I'm still using the command line tool, i'm in transition to the newer one, hopefully tomorrow I will be able to fully use this one.
TF2 is free. Idle until it has valuable stuff, pay $5, transfer to main or sell some of it and get $5 back.
You can't get hats with a F2P account. Also, why do you need an API key? is it for the item drop list?
You can't get hats with a F2P account. Also, why do you need an API key? is it for the item drop list?
You can't get hats, but you can get tools, taunts, cool weapons and #30 crates. Yes, the API key is for the item drop list, so it can "get" the items from the backpack.
Is it supposed to not be able to load any of the .cfg's? I'm connected to a server right now, but I'm just curious, because in the command prompt, pretty much none of the .cfg's loaded.
It will load the cfgs if they're in the account specific tf folder and/or if you put them in the launch arguments
Is that necessary for it to work?
Is that necessary for it to work?
oh, not at all. It tries to load some cfgs by default but they're not necessary at all.
oh, not at all. It tries to load some cfgs by default but they're not necessary at all.
Well, I got idle.cfg but the others I couldn't find. So far, in about an hour I haven't gotten an item. I'm assuming bad luck but I wish I could get one just to see if it works. Should it be telling me that I'm dying in the text mode?

If you're being killed in the console in text mode then that means someone has joined your server and is killing you. It won't affect your idling but this might be unwanted. If you're using the default tf2idle launch options then sv_lan 1 should make your server local only and noone else should be able to connect.

I'm pretty sure it's a LAN server. Also, I just realized I didn't have my API key in. Hm. I guess that's why it wasn't displaying items. My bad.
