LAST STUPID QUESTION: where could I find my account ID? (sorry) thanks a lot. <3
LAST STUPID QUESTION: where could I find my account ID? (sorry) thanks a lot. <3
Have you looked at your backpack on a backpack viewer site? It's in the URL. Otherwise in Steam go to your profile and it'll be in that URL
Thanks for this great new version, Moussekateer (specially the web viewer), as you had already said a reconnect option will be very usefull, with this shitty 'Bad challenge" I need to close the game and restart every time.

Just rightclick the steam icon and click on servers. There you can connect to a server. (If you need one without afk kick: 217.172.178.120:27024)

It's (relatively) straightforward to check a listen server if a client has disconnected, but if the client has connected to its own listen server then it gets a bit more iffy. I'm thinking I might have to parse the dev console status output
Moussekateer : Port 5000 is used by synology, maybe you could add the ability for us to use the port # we like ?
Moussekateer : Port 5000 is used by synology, maybe you could add the ability for us to use the port # we like ?
Whoops. An oversight on my part, I tried to pick a port that isn't commonly used. This will be in the next version.
Great program! I've managed to get it up and running and everything seems to be working except for the web viewer in 1.6.0. I don't know if I'm just missing an option to enable it or if it's not ready for use yet, but I can't visit it using port 5000. I've also confirmed that nothing was listening on that port with netstat. Anyway, I run TF2Idle and all of my idle accounts on a seperate computer, is it possible to 'accept' items into your backpack without logging into each individual steam account/tf2 and doing it the normal way? Perhaps they just auto move into your backpack after some time. As an addon question to this, what happens if you never accept them.. do they just sit there waiting or are they removed so you are no longer able to claim them? Why does running sandboxed require a secondary steamapps location (the main settings dialog)? Maybe I'm just not understanding it fully, but as it stands right now my setup is:
Note: I have a separate computer and the only thing Steam/TF2 related on it is for idling purposes. C:\Steam\ This is the location I installed Steam to initially on my idle computer. C:\Steams\<account[1,2,3,..]>\ This is where I put Steam installs for each of my idle accounts. C:\Steams\account1\steamapps points to C:\Steam\steamapps C:\steamapps is the Secondary Steamapps Folder Location setup in the Main settings that "Update GCFs" puts the TF2 files in.
It all seems to work just fine with my current setup. I figured I would post and ask just in case I'm doing something slightly off and it comes back to bite me later. Thanks for your hard work on this tool, it's pretty fantastic in my opinion!

They'll stay there forever, but there's a limit to the number of displaced items. What happens when you reach this limit, I don't know. Some people won't need it though.
It sure would be great if bad challenge and 'game unavailable' could be fixed or avoided. Even when i increase the wait time between accounts to 5 minutes it still happens.

In my setup (link to post) it's pointing to a completely seperate folder that is ONLY being referenced in the Secondary Steamapps Folder Location setting. Perhaps I should have set it to C:\Steam\steamapps? (the source of the junctions to C:\Steams\<account>\steamapps)

What I do know is an upcoming feature will, hopefully, make you worry less about it.
Why does TF2Idle need that though? If you never get those issues then you don't have to worry about that business.

I've been at this for the past few hours, and I've had a ton of problems trying to figure it out. This program looks promising, I'm just having difficulties and my tired mind isn't helping. My initial problem was figuring out the folder structures. It wasn't clear where I should be installing Steam, even after going through the readme. After reading through the entire thread, I think I've got it down... except I don't. I get this error every time I try to idle. It's fine when it's run unsandboxed, but even after a restart the message persists: [T]http://i.imgur.com/RuefW.png[/T] Here's my folder setup: [T]http://i.imgur.com/Vx7v3.png[/T] And a bunch of my settings: [T]http://i.imgur.com/nHLfY.png[/T] I've got a few other questions too... how does the easy sandbox mode even work? I ended up using the advanced mode because I couldn't get it to work. I'm thinking in terms of how it finds each account's subfolder within the Steam folder, is it through using the account's username? Nickname? Does it even use the subfolder (in my case, D:/Sandboxie/steam/zeaceofspades/) or just the main steam (D:/Sandboxie/steam/)? I am confused and tired.
Are you all running them from the one Steam folder? It looks like you are. Here's how I have mine set up, lots of pictures but hopefully its clear: http://i.imgur.com/KFoqQ.jpg - Idle folder containing 8 physical copies of the steam folder, bar the steamapps folder. http://i.imgur.com/hhFsj.jpg - Inside one of the steam folders, showing the mklink steamapps http://i.imgur.com/LAmCw.jpg - Inside the steamapps folder, account names blanked out. http://i.imgur.com/TZZIi.jpg - TF2 idle settings, API key blanked out http://i.imgur.com/R6CrP.jpg - More TF2 idle settings, details blanked out http://i.imgur.com/yYPUv.jpg - 8 named sandboxes http://i.imgur.com/gtPBn.jpg - Sandboxie full access You've only given the sandboxie access to the steam folder, I'd give it full D:\ access to see if that's the problem. Though from the error, I think you're trying to run all the sandboxes from just one steam.exe which it won't let you do, you need a separate steam folder for each.

I know it seems like I'm trying to "run them all from one steam folder", but I'm currently trying to get only one account working at the moment, that one being "zeaceofspades." The zeace2, zeace3 and zeace4 folders are set up, just not entered in to the TF2idle program yet.

What is the proccess to go through when there is an update? Update the CGFs and then delete sandbox contents and then it tells me to run the Steam backup installation? I don't remember making a Steam backup installation.
What is the proccess to go through when there is an update? Update the CGFs and then delete sandbox contents and then it tells me to run the Steam backup installation? I don't remember making a Steam backup installation.
Basically if you have two separate copies of the TF2 gcfs then you need to click the update button so it copies over the updated copies to the other location. Then you need to run a Steam instance that uses the other location's gcfs so it can complete the update process. If you have only one copy of the gcfs that you link to then you don't need to bother with any of this.
So I've been running 4 accounts using Sandboxie, and it works just fine. EXCEPT the drop log doesn't work. I left it on all night .. came back.. drop log empty. I restarted Steam for each sandboxie, logged in to TF2, and a whole bunch of new items popped up. So they were there... but the droplog isn't recording them. I have 'Steam' checked under backpack viewer... is that not the best option?
I like this program! it runs 30+ accounts no problem makes life a lot easier, please find a way to tell if the account is running or not please! (btw i've never gotten the droplog to work =\)
Moussekateer, i have another suggestion to improve the application. Could you make status icon's on each account button that displays if either steam or TF2 is running for that account? Right now i use Sandboxie to check that but it would be nice to have it all in one interface.
Would this be possible in a future release?
some of the accounts have only got 4 items overnight.. have they decreased the amount we get?
Um... I have had some issues with getting TF2 to work after this latest update. For some reason last night I had to update TF2 on every account, never had to do that in the past. And my mklink steamapps still work. Maybe they updated each one individually and not just the gcf's? Then I had to manually defrag each account, since it would get stuck at 100% when validating cache. Defragging fixed it. But doing it so much causes headache. I just shut my PC off since my 2500K couldn't handle it all. Today, I was going to deal with it 1 account at a time. However, it gets stuck on the Preparing to launch TF2... thing. Anyone else having this problem? edit: Fixed with a reinstallation :/
some of the accounts have only got 4 items overnight.. have they decreased the amount we get?
I also got 4-6 items on all my accounts - no more. Very weird.
got 10 in my all account
The program has worked fine, but now after the latest updates I have gotten this error and I didn't change anything in the settings before or after the update and don't have any clue what is causing it :L When that pipes assert error comes up it shows it like in the picture for a few seconds and then kills hl2.exe.
I've been getting the bad challenge error and the accounts can't connect once that line appears, any ideas to solve it ? (posted the same on the other thread to see if someone knows something)
