I'm up and running except for the log view. I went to teh steam page and everything but don't know what I should type in the domain part. Also, when pasting the API key into TF2 idle, how is it supposed to know which account is which? And am I supposed to seperate the API's with commas?

For the domain just type none, or your email.

Well explaining all of it would be great...I tried just following this thread and there are no steps at all really. I tried other threads and videos but I can never seem to get it to work.
could not resolve steam vanity id. dafuq.
ty Mousse wow it sounds a bit greedy.
So you expect people to take you by the hand and invest hours in helping you with a remote session/chat for free? Why would people do that. First make an effort yourself and take advantage of the free help you get in this forum.
SUGGESTION: I would like to see a button on the program that would terminate all GameOverlayUI.exe processes as it reduces the memory usage. I've posted this on the other thread but some might not check it. When I terminate the gameoverlayui.exe, it drops my memory usage down a bit, but it's quite boring to terminate all of them one by one, so you just need to create a shortcut with this "command":
taskkill.exe /F /IM GameOverlayUI.exe /T
If you don't know how to create the shortcut, here you go: LINK
Starts then stops logging all accounts. Is this normal?
Just make sure you wrote the right API key, and that you've set up a community profile for your accounts and that the vanity id matches.
Its impossible to even idle, I don't understand how you people do this...
typical chrome user
wow it sounds a bit greedy.
He is right, just nobody else care about spammer.
HOKAY. For those having log problems, I finally, after pure luck, figured it out. No one else bothered to post this info. OPEN THE ACCOUNT (LOGIN THROUGH STEAM) THAT GIVES YOU LOG ERRORS FIRST, ONE BY ONE IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE GIVING YOU ERRORS. You have to click on "Community", click on "Edit Profile" on right hand side, and from there you HAVE TO EDIT YOUR CUSTOM URL. Make it anything. Fucking anything. If it's not in use, Steam will accept it and all you have to do is paste that custom URL that links to your profile into the corresponding account's "Vanity ID" inside TF2Idle.
You need to do that to set up item logging anyway.
That was the point of my post. Just saying, nobody told me to set up a steam ID for idle accounts.
ty Mousse wow it sounds a bit greedy. vmartelle Write in detail what you do and what you don't understand, I'm sure we can solve your problem
Seeing as how this guide doesn't really have any steps, just says download this program and edit the .bat files...I downloaded the program and now what?
That was the point of my post. Just saying, nobody told me to set up a steam ID for idle accounts.
How else would you be able to view your backpack?
Seeing as how this guide doesn't really have any steps, just says download this program and edit the .bat files...I downloaded the program and now what?
You have this guide on the OP: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1161862&p=36613624&viewfull=1#post36613624 Read ALL of it, and try it out.
to stop the GameOverlayUI.exe loading .. with each account goto settings, uncheck enable steam community in-game
to stop the GameOverlayUI.exe loading .. with each account goto settings, uncheck enable steam community in-game
I don't know if it's worth going on all accounts and changing the setting for all of them. Some users have hundreds of accounts. A quick button or script that terminate them all would be easier, I think.

I did: computer - local disk (c) - idle - steam1 computer local disk c - idle - steam 2 etc etc, all the way to steam 8. I then went to command prompt and did: mklink /D steamapps "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps" it said it created a steamapps folder but it wasn't in steam1....how do i do this? Also the guide says to create idle.cfg and paste in the code for it, but that doesn't work because it doesn't say .txt, so there is no way to edit it. It just says windows can not open that file.

For the first problem you need to "navigate" to the folder inside the command prompt, and then use that command. or instead of "navigating" to the folder, just type the folder instead of steamapps, like this:
mklink /D "C:\idle\steam1\steamapps" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps"
I would recommend only trying to create 1 account/setup for idling until you master it. For the second problem you can open the cfg with notepad, or you can rename it to idle.cfg.txt, and when you are done you rename it back to idle.cfg

With these, copy the settings from one of your previously made sandboxes so you don't need to go into the settings for each one. Giving them all simple names is strongly advised." In this sandboxie program thingy it says files 'pdfshell' and 'acrosbl' already in there? Anyways, I can't select the root steam folder because when I navigate to the steam folder, it wants a specific file. I click add program: local disk c > programs x86 > steam....am I supposed to stop at steam? Kinda confused >_< [editline]31st July 2012[/editline]
You just need to create a new sandbox, give it a name and then change the settings (instead of the steam folder just choose the hard drive)
You just need to create a new sandbox, give it a name and then change the settings (instead of the steam folder just choose the hard drive)
Didn't really work...Kinda need details lol. i suck at this Step by step would be good D:

Sorry to tell you, but if you have trouble with simple steps like this one and the ones before, i'm afraid idling or some sort of not so direct and simple processes/tutorials are not for you. Come back when you know a little bit more about computers in general and other things that are related to computers.

"add the root folder of the drive that contains Steam." You can't add the root folder because it wants a specific file. Just because I don't study computers does not mean I should not be able to do this. I'll keep trying with the help of others, thank you.
Seeing as how this guide doesn't really have any steps, just says download this program and edit the .bat files...I downloaded the program and now what?
Just 1 minute of opening my eyes and looking at the first post i found a guide which was posted there: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1161862&p=36613624&viewfull=1#post36613624 And if you look on github where you downloaded the software you would also have found a readme file: https://github.com/Moussekateer/TF2IdleGUI/blob/master/README.md Even if the guide was not posted there you still could have found it by reading through this forum.

Wow. Was using tf2idle...Loaded it up to find all my settings erased on it, just a blank program. What the...?
hi love the tutorial & love the idle, but I'm kinda confused on why did i go wrong'... I got this error everytime I run my alt http://i50.tinypic.com/mh6gp3.png this pops up. Don't get me wrong the game runs ok, but it's kinda annoying. I went on & try to run it normally, the game overlay won't load & when I load the mann co store it says I must turn on the steam community in-game which it's always checked. I did follow the instructions on iviv's, I quadruple check how i did it and even try just copying only the steam.exe and let it create it's own but still no dice. I junction (mklink for WIN XP) the huge files like the steamapps & tf2 from my alts. Strange when I link my alt to my main, it didn't give me the same error and the overlay & mannco store loads fine. Please help me
