Have you done any testing with memory usage before (every idle account on it's own server) and after (first idle account starts a server and additional idle accounts join this server)?
Earlier in this thread people had suggested that on their machines there was minimal memory savings by making idle accounts join an existing server.
I suspect this didn't sound right to you. It doesn't sound right to me - but out of curiosity do you have any numbers from before and after?
Moussekateer - I'm glad that you decided to learn Python :) I'd like to thank you for your hard work on this program! You rock!
I noticed the console always looks for idle.cfg and never finds it. I can see that the program created an idle.cfg in the same folder I'm running TF2idle out of - and I know the right place to move it to. But..is anyone actually doing that? The documentation doesn't mention it and outside of other people asking about it in this thread it doesn't seem like folks are moving the idle.cfg. My idling box isn't the newest machine so every little bit helps!

If you idle each account as a server the hl2.exe consumes around 500 MB, and if you connect to a server you consume 250MB. I can't search my posts in this forum, but if you can I 've done some "study" on the Mem Usage

I can attest to that.

Make sure that idle.cfg is saved in every single idle account's steamapps/%username%/team fortress 2/tf/cfg folder.
Bad news guys.
Refined metal is getting worthless because of the multi-idlers like us.
Key prices are going up and up.
Edit: Also, found another problem. Editing multiple accounts at once in TF2Idle that have Sandboxie paths assigned to them will overwrite with the text "Multiple Values" and try to search for that path. Just a heads-up.
It also happens with group names (occasionally, very glitchy) if more than one group set of accounts are being edited at a time.
Thanks for reporting this. All bugs previously mentioned are fixed in this version:

I apologize if I didn't see it, or saw it and forgot later. I need to find an easier way to keep track of these bugs and have them reported...
Edit: You can now report bugs, add feedback or request features at the uservoice site I set up. This will make it much easier for me to collect bug reports and prioritize features.
[editline]2nd December 2012[/editline]
Update released. You can, as always, download it here. Here are the notes:
* Version 1.9.3
** Better Steam API failure handling
** Completely remove lag on adding multiple accounts to drop log
** Increase max number of account box columns to 20
** Better flexible resizing for account boxes so that more can fit on screen
** Add link to uservoice forum for bug reports, feature requests or feedback in about menu
** Fixed bug with accounts that have spaces in the password
** Fixed bug with multiple values being set with steam install path or groups in accounts view
For those interested you can see all the code changes since 1.9.0 here :)
Hi first of all thanks for this update Moussekateer.
Will i lost previous account setting if i decided to use this new version?
Got another questions.
In the tf2idle launch setting tabs, i have set it to connect command so that all the account use the same setting (individual idle launch setting is empty).
The issue is each account would always make a server first before connecting to the specified ip address in t2idle launch settings tab.
This might not be a big problem but i think it can save a bit of time.

Not as long as the executable is in the location of the old one, AFAIK.

You have the launch settings as only the connect command? It shouldn't be doing that unless you have something inside your autoexec that is using the exec command, or your original launch parameters have something like "+map itemtest". That would tell the client to instantly start a listen server.
Try reading this post - it has my launch parameters in it and it skips the client trying to boot a listen server.
Edit: When you select multiple accounts and use the edit function, the Sandbox Path isn't italicized and is still editable - not sure whether that's intentional - if you do edit the text, it'll change the path of all of them, whereas if you leave it as the "Multiple Values", it'll stay the same. In addition, with the groups, the text is italicized and is editable when multiple values are selected. Somewhat inconsistent with the other properties of the program.
Uservoice link is here: Bug Report: Inconsistencies With v1.9.3
Edit 2: Passwords with spaces still don't work. One of my alternate accounts in particular has 8 spaces, and one has two spaces consecutively. The ones without spaces work fine.
Also, there's a typo on the exit prompt. "Are you sure to quit?"

(individual idle launch setting is empty).
I have no "+map itemtest" commands because i am connecting to idle server.

Try not to double post. Moussekateer and other people have make a lot of post regarding this.
Don't know if this has been mentioned, but an optional (custom?) alert sound when something drops would be nice.
yeah that would give some excitement lol.
also can auto save log option to text file being implemented? Sometimes my pc shut down for no reason so i really need auto log save like after 2 or 3 hours.
What do you mean?
Thanks, and sadly I don't have a VPS, nor do I know anyone who has a VPS. Also, what payment option did you use to add dollars to your steam wallet? And did you enter a fake address that's inside the US?
I used paypal but in my country i can also use iDeal. I don't live the US, where did you get that idea?
I don't use fake adresses but aliases.
I'm loving the updates, glad to see all the bug fixes rolling in. I just have a question that's not directly related to TF2Idle, I would like to setup something similar to this:
PS: Online Drop log of my idling here
Could someone explain how to make the Drop Log viewable outside my local network? Maybe recommend a free web hosting site as well?
(individual idle launch setting is empty).

Hm. I'm assuming you're trying to connect to an existing idle server. Try these settings for the accounts that want to connect:
+exec idle.cfg -textmode -nosound -low -novid -nopreload -nojoy -sw +sv_lan 1 -width 640 -height 480 +connect <ip>:<port>
Replace the IP with the IP you want to connect to and the port with the port of the server.
I'm not double posting, I'm trying to save space by referring to my previous posts, but kay.

First you need to turn on the web log feature in TF2Idle. At that point, it becomes the web server so you don't need to get any free web hosting involved. The second part is you need to forward port 5000 to the machine running TF2Idle. How to do this is going to depend on your router/firewall. I'd start with doing a Google search for: the type of router you have + "port forwarding".

Ah, I had been stupidly using the external default gateway instead of the IP address. With the correct address, it works like a charm. I then used a free domain service to get rid of the nasty mess of numbers.
When I try to get a steam API key it asks me for my domain name.
So I can't use the drop log if I don't have a domain name or what should I do with it?

you don't have to enter a real domain for it, i used "127.0.0.1" when i last needed a key
Gee, I can't imagine what would happen when valve finds about this program...

Which spreadsheet?
Which spreadsheet?
i think it's backpack.tf
The value is actually a great idea, keep up the good work.
add item values sounds a good idea.. notice it still says tape recorder as tool though:D
Sneak peek looks great.
Also, can you add an option not to automaticly start logging when i idling?
I dont use drop log on the computer i idle usually and it doesnt make me any good except eating my ram and frozing tf2idle on the comp i idle.
i think it's backpack.tf
Yep
Also, can you add an option not to automaticly start logging when i idling?
Yep, next version.
I will probably release it soon, along with some bug fixes, instead of waiting to finish other features I have been working on.
Is it in any way possible for this to have the item type be different for Hats and Miscs? If not, maybe it should be changed to a more generic thing, like Cosmetics or something?

Hats seems fine, in tf2 everything is a hat.
