So, to get api key i have to go here and post any website or my website (that i don't have)?
[sp]I know i'll get a lots of boxes for this post[/sp]
Have you messed around with the tf2idle.ini file? It assumes the file is encrypted if it can't read it properly. Open it up and see if there's something wrong with it.

Version 1.1.1 is up. Fixed a bug with saving the item id to text file which prevented saving the log file at all.
Haven't changed anything and it looks like nothings wrong with it

Yep

That sounds odd. Does any of your data (usernames/passwords/group names/paths/etc) contain any weird characters? Do the section titles contain any weird characters?

Ah just fixed it! thank you so much for your help and amazing program!

Cool. Can I ask what the issue was? Want to look into it if it's a possible bug.
Found a brainslug and a buckaroo's on my alt and my friend's account, along with 1.33 refined in weapons.
Time to idle, just started it unsandboxed. When I wake up, I'll post my loot.
I tried this with a few accounts overnight and got 40 weapons and some crates. Once it's set up, works as advertised - thanks for this great tool. :)

The name of one of the accounts somehow got displaced halfway as if someone had hit enter between it and i didn't notice.
I wish there would be a way for clients to reconnect to a said server, after being disconnected from steam.
I left accounts opened on idle just to find them all disconnected. Crap steam instability.

Not sure what you mean. If you're connected to a local listen server then you should start getting drops again when you (and therefore the server) regains a connection to Steam.
In precise words:
- my idle account is connected to server A (dedicated or otherwise);
- my account gets disconnected, during night runs
Is there a way (.bat file or other script option) to automatically reconnect to said A server?
Hope this clarified stuff up...

I don't know of any reliable way to detect when you've lost connection to Steam. But if you're idling on a local listen server then you don't have to worry about reconnecting as the listen server will reconnect to Steam when it can and you'll continue to get drops.
I'm finding the buttons (any of them) work about 5% of clicks.
What's up with that?

Haven't heard of this problem. Is there a tf2idle_exceptions.txt file in the same folder as the program by any chance?
can someone post a step by step thing to set this up
Ok, I finally manage to run the whole friggin thing!
The problem now is that every TF2 instance is trying to download a 3 GB TF2, pretty much downloading the game, any ideas?

Actually all of TF2 is closer to 9 gigs than 3 gigs.

After you copy over the TF2 GCFs you need to run steam.exe for that folder unsandboxed first because it still needs to update some other stuff.
I was fortunate enough to see the short-lived thread on SPUF (why was it deleted anyways? you made it quite clear that the program does nothing more than organize shortcuts with a nice interface) and found your program here.
However, I can't get the log to work. The program can successfully idle my accounts and I can see new items in the backpack sites, but the log just reads 0's all across the board. I did get an API key (on my main account, which is not connected to the program in any way) and put that into the program; did I do something wrong there?

It was removed because apparently the Steam forums frown upon anything that encourages idling, especially tools to facilitate it.
As for the drop log, did you make sure to select the accounts you want to log, switch to the log viewer and click add accounts? It should say 'started logging' for each account selected.

Aha wow, thanks for that. Leave it to me to miss the big green button.
Thanks for all the work you've put into this program. I much prefer it to the batch files I was running beforehand.
Whenever I try to launch steam through this thing with default launch settings I get this error from steam

That means that sandbox can't read the steam.exe program because it's being used by another process. How do you have your sandboxes set up?

Nope, I don't have that file anywhere.

That's quite odd. It should either work or not work, it shouldn't be in a quantum state of workingness. Maybe your mouse is playing tricks on you?
thanks again for this api, it's really usefull
The tools itself is nice and with my current config works great. What I would actually want if it's possible to add a delay before launching a new steam account (maybe minutes) ( Im using the same steam exe ). I haven't tried the logs yet but I hope it works. Otherwise launching one account at a time works just great.

You can delay the account start in the options, up to 180 seconds in the slider (options)
