because we all need keys 2.5$ each.
Simpler would be to take a serial key from promotion, like Metro2033 did. Maybe there's smth like this now ;d
btw. What is liek the cheapest game I could buy on the market for keys and it would make Steam premium?

Steam premium, probably one of the indie bundles. Should only cost you a key depending on who you buy from.
i just update new version of Idle, that was great when u did the thing with the drop log with my idea before...niceeeeeeee
Hey guys. How do I get rid of all these errors?
I've created the second steamapps folder, updated GCFs from TF2Idle, then launched TF2 from Steam - everything was fine. But when I start idling I get the errors.

you should still get your items, does it say xxx connected in the end or does hl2.exe crash?

Everything is as it's always been in the end. Except for a couple of errors.

EDIT: Well, I get item drops, but wait... 2 weapons in 2 hours? No tools and crates at all. Weird.
I know I'm using an outdated version, but I noticed 1.9.3 eats up quite a bit of RAM. I've had it running for a couple days (~30 accounts) and it's using 355 megs of RAM. It's also slow to respond to resizing the window.
Hey how exactly is the easy sandbox mode used? I can't seem to get it to work.
It needs sandboxie involved so that it can create temporary sandboxes to idle in. I consider easy sandbox mode to be experimental because it seems to be fussy and will not always work correctly.

Yea I've noticed this memory leak too but it isn't anywhere near as bad as yours. Unfortunately it's REALLY hard to track down the cause of it, mostly because I don't know if it's in the PyQt bindings or in Qt itself (the GUI framework I use).

Thats normal.
I got a problem. I get disconnected from the server while idling if I minimize the game.
I have a top notch custom made gaming rig only a year old. So I don't think it's my computer being too slow.
I'm only running one idle account aswell. So it's not like I'm running 50 at the same time. It's just one idle account.
Does anyone know how to solve this?
If it matters, I use the alt + tab method to minimize. Sometimes it doesn't work so I have to ctrl + alt + del ... after it so minimize the game. I don't think it matters, but the more info the better.
Having trouble setting up a third account, as the issue lies mainly in the command prompt. I tried following the steps by Iviv's guide, but during the portion where I need to create a symbolic linkup to my "C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\Steamapps", my command prompt registers the link to be successfully created, but when I click it I receive this message:

I have no idea why this is happening, since I used his guide to make my other two accounts Idle perfectly...

Are you running mklink with the /D parameter
[editline]26th December 2012[/editline]
If you aren't, delete the /steam folder, copypaste a new one and run it with the /D paramenter(mklink /D steamapps etc)
Running without /D also makes it fail connecting to steam if you try running the account through tf2idle

I ran it with the /D parameter, why am I not supposed to?
I tried to idle with 20 accounts at the same time today but couldn't because there is a client slot limit. Does anyone know how to increase the number of accounts that can connect to a server? Is there a work-around to idle with a lot of clients and one server account? I would expect at least 32 slots is possible?

type +maxplayers 32 into a server host launch settings
So i used +maxplayers 32 in my server account but i still can't idle with more then 16 accounts at the same time. I get the error 'could not allocate server IP port'. Does anyone have an idea why this is happening. It also confuses me that i've seen it mentioned that 24 slots is the default so why does it stop at 16 slots for me....

There's a space between Files and (x86)

Put +port 27030 in the launch options of the idle accounts above 12~(and go one up for each, +port 27030 for idler 12, +port 27031 for idler 13, etc)
If you get a "could not allocate port to hltv" error then run with -nohltv as well

Thanks that worked fine. What does nohltv do? Don't really understand why i need to do the port thing either. afaik TF2 is always default 24 slots. It even says so in the first line when each client starts.

Every instance of TF2 binds itself to an UDP port, so that the first game uses 27015, second game uses 27016 etc.
However, after so-so many bindings, it fails at continuing automatically and tries binding a port that's already used(which results in it failing and refusing to launch)
You're just helping it along manually so it can have a port to send signals through
Sometimes it tries starting the server with HLTV(which also tries to use a port) and -nohltv forces HLTV to stay off
[editline]26th December 2012[/editline]
It has nothing to do with the slots, it's just the way the server/client makes a connection
Source doesn't expect you to be running enough games to use ports 27015-27030 on the same network.
(In theory, you can bind ports manually only for the crashing accounts, but binding from 13 onwards leaves a couple of ports for other things like playing TF2 on your main if you have a computer that'll handle it)
Hello, I can't understand where the TF2Idle file is
Finally, run TF2Idle. I put it into c:\idle so I had everything in the same place, but it doesn't matter where it goes. Its a stand alone exe, no installing, though it does make its own cfg file, and will make error files to check if there are problems, so its nice to have it separated.
Really I cant find it, without it I can't change the settings and do that thing with the API key..

He means that you must create a file in your C:\ Drive directory named "Idle", as this will house the steam directories for each idle account...

Did you download it...
Is there any message I can look for that confirms I've jumped through all the hoops to be eligible for item drops? Apart from the 'name connected' message which only tells half the story.

Thanks for explaining. The LAN part makes sense. Do you know if there is a way to idle with more then 32 accounts on a server?
Do you know if there is a way to idle with more then 32 accounts on a server?
There's no way
Another question. Once i have 32 accounts running and i create another server on my 33th sandbox, how do i make the next range of client accounts connect to that server? Won't that server have the same IP as the first one i've made?

Everytime you start tf2 it will try to use the next available port, so you would need to change the settings of the connect accounts, so that those accounts connect to the new server
How do i know which ports that new server is listening on?
Also does anyone else has problems with the web viewer? At first it works and then after a while i get a blank screen.

I managed to start a 2nd server and in the conosole it says: WARNING Port 27050 was unavailable, bound to port 27064 instead.
But when i tell the next client to connect to port 27064 or 65 it says that the server is full. I'm guessing it's connecting to the first server for some reason. How can i force it to connect to the 2nd listen server?
