• TF2Idle - An easier way to idle

for the people who have the problem that they need to validate for each idle account: 1. Update CFG's in TF2idle 2. Open Steam from one of your idle folders unsandboxed, login with the corresponding account 3. rmb click on TF2 and choose properties 4. go to local files 5. click on the button "Defragment cache files" 6. properly exit steam 7. go to next idle folder and repeat process The first time will take around 10 minutes depending on fragmentation. The second and following times it'll be done in around 10-15 seconds, much faster dan validating for every account. you can start idle sandboxed with one account, after all the idle accounts are done 'defragmenting cache files'. It'll open TF2 textmode without validating. If succesful open all other accounts. I'd like to hear if this was useful for other people with same problems.
I managed to start a 2nd server and in the conosole it says: WARNING Port 27050 was unavailable, bound to port 27064 instead. But when i tell the next client to connect to port 27064 or 65 it says that the server is full. I'm guessing it's connecting to the first server for some reason. How can i force it to connect to the 2nd listen server?
In the second server account put this on the settings: -port 28015 (or other port you know it's available) in the normal accounts put +connect ip:28015 ( +connect ip:port )
Cheers mate, worked!
Cheers mate, worked!
Do you mind writing max account number you can run at a time when you give it a shot? Thanks
I just found this, and it seems to be very promising, thanks a lot for the good work! I am currently copy and pasting my Steam folder into C:\Idle, as iviv's guide tells me too. But I have a question about this; would it not be better just to shortcut/"mklink" the entire Steam folder? I'm sorry if it's a stupid question, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work. Also, I currently do not have the privilege to search for stuff, so I apologize if this has been asked before.
I'm having problems adding more then 9 accounts to Tf2idle. The 10th account overlaps the first account when i try to add it. I have named them: Name1, Name2, Name3 etc. It's like the button for the 10th account is infront of the first account. Any solution to this?
use 01 instead of 1
The sandbox part works fine, however, TF2 isn't running in text mode; none of the idle launch settings are working. I am using default settings. Anyone know how to fix this?
use 01 instead of 1
Thanks alot, It worked. [editline]28th December 2012[/editline] But now i have ran into a new problem. Using this program seems to have messed up my tf2 settings.. I can no longer choose 1920x1080 resolution in my video options. Talking about my normal steam which i play on, not one of the idle ones.
Cheers mate, worked!
let us know how idling with 32+ accounts goes for you. I can never run more than 32 steams, the 33th one simply doesn't load up. never ever.

I did every step exactly. 1st account of the day, started up just fine. 2nd account.. just went into validating files. Doesn't seem to be a fix to avoid this yet.
Does anyone know why my regular Tf2 starts up in 640x480 and can't be changed to 1920x1080 like usual? It happened after i began using Tf2Idle. Is there any fix to this?

But the screen flickering looked like windows explorer was crashing so i stopped (but i don't think that was it. I will try this once more next week with al background processes closed (using tune up utilities for that) and see what happens. It wasn't a matter of RAM because i still had 3GB left.

[editline]28th December 2012[/editline] But before i try that i will have to wait for the validating steam files crap for the 100th time. :suicide:
Have used this software for a while and everytime got good amount of drops. This week, without doing any modify I looted in first 8 hours xmas crates+1 wep. Today, after all night idling no one of 13 account got 1 item. What is wrong?

Weird. You should give it a shot 30+ with virtualbox. I tried but have some errors atm.

Unfortunately because there was no prior warning to downloads being disabled, the new links are only reflected in the latest version, from 1.9.5 onwards.
And to update, what's the process? Just make sure the newer version is in the correct folder, and it'll save all the settings? Probably a noob question, but want to make sure I don't fuck something up
you don't have the sandboxie access set up properly on sandboxes 13-16 most likely
I have set them up exactly like the other accounts in sandbox :/
I can get 17 accounts connecting to my server, but two accounts eventually disconnect. I think it's an issue with the -port 27018 and +port 27019's that I have set up. I don't understand, how do I register the web api key. For example what domain, and how do I use it after it's registered?
I don't understand, how do I register the web api key. I didn't understand it at first either but tried with just filling in a word and it worked.
