the problem is i've already idle for 10 hours with those accounts and got nothing, does that means more idling for this week yield 0 items to those acc ?
chukkyjr, try idling again for 3-5 hours if you didn't get anything again = bad luck :(

Is there normally a delay from when you find an item to when it appears in your item inventory? In log view I found an item about an hour ago and it still hasn't shown up in my inventory. All of the items I found before that are there.
So.. I managed to save up enough to trade for an Upgrade gift, and decided to use it to create a premium idling alt, while still keeping my main account F2P. Despite being terrible at computers, I manage to set up and log into an alternate Steam acc with sandboxie, and everything looks fine and dandy. I attempt to trade the gift to the alt.. And Steam won't let me because apparently an account that hasn't purchased any games can't even accept trade requests.
Does everyone buy something on Steam every time they set up an idling alt, or is there something I'm missing? If the former, what's even the point of using upgrade gifts to create idling alts?
I have a few questions, why does it say API key not valid when I got one from the steamcommunity.com/dev/ site and is it supposed to look like this? [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/OCNMo.png[/IMG]
Edit: Restarting it fixed the steam api thing I thing, it just says started logging now, still wondering if that's what it's supposed to look like though.

for the first time yea i filled alternate acc steam wallet, and then i used the free copy of dota 2 to make their acc premium
What's the cheapest game that I can buy with TF2 items in order to gift it to my alts and make them premium?
dotas most likely, just buy them in bulk, or maybe anyone have better ideas?

You can get a Dota invite for a scrap which is much cheaper than Fortix, I also dont see any point in upgrading a steam account into premium, I can trade with all the accounts I used the Upgrade to premium with no problem

That's odd, I certainly cant. If I try to to invite my main to trade with the alt, I get a message saying 'Some features become available once you have games in your Steam account'. If I try to invite my alt from my main (which is F2P in TF2 but owns a copy of Portal 2), I get '[name] is not available to trade. More information will be shown to [name] if they invite you to trade.'

You don't trade the DOTA invite you have the person GIFT it to your non-premium account. Adding DOTA 2 to a non-premium account makes it premium. Valve just gave like 5+ invites to most people so invites are super cheap.

You can gift Steam games to alt accounts to make the Steam alt accounts 'TF2 premium'?
Yep you certainly can. Anything to "initialize" the game library.
Nnnnno, I'm pretty sure receiving a gifted game makes you 'Steam premium' but lets you remain 'TF2 Free-to-play' That's what happened when I bought Portal 2, at least.

1. Purchase anything from mann co OR
2. Enter Orange Box Serial OR
3. Use new "premium upgrade" item
[B]Only[/B] options 1-2 will make your Steam account fully activated (steam friends, trade etc.)
With option 3 u have to activate something in the library (like Dota 2 gift, not sure if Steam Beta or other MNC beta works...).
Best is to create virtual credit card / use gift cards, create new steam acc, add 5€/$/Pounds to that acc, buy cheapest item (or paint to resell it) then use the rest of the money to buy a game and gift it to the main account (giftable but not tradable for 30 days!). Remember, right now u have to wait 15 days till u can trade (so u can idle but u cant trade drops for 2 weeks).

Yeah its all fine. There is nothing against the rules to have multiple premium accounts at all. The limitations in different cards is to prevent credit card fraud. As long as you use valid payment and pay for everything there is no issues at all.
I know for fact this is true. I had all 32 accounts of mine locked initially because they thought it was CC fraud. After investigation of all my accounts they unlocked them all and apologized for the trouble.

That's odd...because I specifically sent them a list of ALL my accounts when they got locked. I only "appealed" one lock and then said hey can you unlock all these others too and that's when they said why do you have so many accounts?
I explained and they said our system doesn't support this type of activity. I asked to be escalated to a higher level, they said there wasn't one, but referred me to someone else. That person said that everything looks good, they were concerned about payment fraud and unlocked them all.
Everything has been fine since.

SOB I can't seem to figure out why my new accounts that I've added won't go into textmode without starting the game now.
It loads the game in fullscreen 640x480 loads into the map and then dumps to textmode like it should. The problem is I can only get 2-3 of them before one seems to lock fullscreen all black.
It also seems to still be occasionally loading joystick settings even though I have nojoy. Not sure if it isn't loading the proper cfg files or what, but they look configured identically....
Anyone else notice this?
*sigh* Still have to verify all my alts, every time.
I empty the sandboxes, delete the GFC's, then update the GFC's. Start one of the accounts unsandboxed, works fine. Close it out, open another account sandboxed and I have to verify. From then on I have to verify every single one.
Verification is bad enough just getting to 100%, the worst part is it sitting at 100% for ten minutes. This is a very laborious process trying to get 30 accounts up.
Edit: I should note this is the second time I've launched them since I totally redid all my folders, totally stock steam installs and totally stock tf2 files. I've done nothing that should be screwing them up. I also realize it's likely not the fault of the idle program, it's just driving me up the wall and I'm not sure what to do about it.

1. go to "sandbox path folder" of the account that has the problem (ex) c:\idle\steam1\)
2. delete all files, except mklink(steamapps)
3. copy the contents of your normal Steam and paste to fodler(ex) c:\idle\steam1\)

That's overkill, individually verifying TF2 on every account fixes it and doesn't make you relog into steam guard

Did you know if I could have problems if I use "mlink" to link /tf2/scripts/items/items_game.txt ? I want to share that file from my main account to the other accs.
Also, it will be great if you can add a downloader for the item schema file :P
