btw do f2p acc able to gain hat / tool drops? or they have to be upgraded to premium first? oh and btw ppl use sandboxie to launch multiple steams right? (or VM or whatever) EDIT : i just realized even if i have added sandboxie full access, my AV (Free AVG) still messes up with the files, just realized this with dota 2 updates, gonna try if it will fix the validating problems
I've had a name tag dropped on my f2p idling account.
Hi :) I have an idea for your awesome app. Is it possible that you can add "schedule start/stop" to it? For example I want to my idle 1,2,3,4,5 (group1) start at 10:00 and stop at 18:00, after that program will start 6,7,8,9,10 (group 2) at 18:10 and stop it after few hours. I think you've got the point.
If possible something I want to be able to schedule shutdown of the computer.
If possible something I want to be able to schedule shutdown of the computer.
shutdown -s -t X X - time in seconds
shutdown -s -t X X - time in seconds
Might want to throw in -f too.
Hi there Great program, started using it, and it works! great stuff, thank you ! But i have just encounted a problem, and i cant use it anymore When i click "go idle" it says "updateing steam" and it then says Error can not update but when i log into steam the normal way it is already updated and TF2 works with no problems any ideas? Thanks
Feature request: http://scr.hu/0eva/0evxn In this log view, add a column "Last drop" which will show the exact time of last drop (if its, lets say, 2 hours ago and no drops are happening we can shut down the specific idle account, this could be automated, too! {having in mind that DCs and other steam downtime shit can happen...}) *EDIT* Some information, that ppl with low disk space can use I created mlinks for every single team fortress 2 folder for every single idle account. 1 folder takes up to 1gb so with several or hunders accounts u just can imagine how much space one can save... Problem with it? Only one account at the time can launch the game and you have to wait 1-2 mins even if they "connect" to the server. Why is that? My guess is, that Steam files cannot be used by several instances of hl2.exe thats why you will get a error "cannot launch this game, try again later". I usualy set timer to 300-400 seconds (this could vary) per account, but even sometimes some accounts just wont run (like 1 or 3...). Unless you have time to manualy launch those accounts :) http://scr.hu/0eva/7j1zn - here's the "master" folder - every other team fortress 2 and winui idle account is mlinked here http://scr.hu/0eva/ohz2t If anyone wants to try it - do it at your own risk. Some game clients will not run and you will have to run them once again (probably manualy), on the other hand you can save shitloads of HDD space (I've saved like 40-50 GB) tl'dr - you can save space by mlinkink team fortress 2 and winui folder - but this comes at a cost of accounts not launching properly

Don't know if I has been posted before, but there are almost 2k replies, so, is there a way to handle game updates (maybe some script)? Also, I've dynamic IP and lose connection every 12 hours or so, is there a way to handle this?

If you disconnect every 12 hours for more then few minutes, you won't get any drops.I dont think you can fix that without reconnect, which is not available right now.
anyone here use keys to open crates? i'm not quite sure whether use keys to open create or not since most strange weapons only valued at 1 ref at most

I didn't know that was the cause for game unavailable errors. That's explains why some people don't have this problem. You could use Clouds TF2 idler which is just an autohotkey script that uses sandboxie and TF2idle only for the drop log. Once it sees the game unavailable error it clicks the error away and re-launches that account. But i had some problems with it so i have to see if i can get it working again and Clouds, the original creator, isn't responding anymore.
anyone here use keys to open crates? i'm not quite sure whether use keys to open create or not since most strange weapons only valued at 1 ref at most
Some crates are more profitable then others. i got a question, how do you manage 40++ acc? by having 40++ folder of steam or by having few then logging in and out in periodic basis?
Hi there, I tried to search for this, so my apologies if this has been covered. Being new I don't have the rights to search yet. I'm getting an API Key not valid message. What website am I supposed to enter on this page? http://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey All I want to do is set up the drop log view. Do I enter my Steam ID web address? Any help would be most appreciated. EDIT: Think I fixed it, I went back 28 pages and found something that seemed relevant. I'll update again if I'm having issues. Also, as an aside people always says f2p never get good drops. When I first started I got some paint drops, but I didn't have space in my back back so I deleted them. Ah, the folly of youth!
^i got Taunt item from one of my f2p idle account btw, thinking of upgrading that one first
For some odd reason, when I reinstalled windows, I can no longer launch any textmodes anymore. It says it is launching tf2, but the game shuts down shortly after that without launching tf2. When I remover the textmode (-textmode) command line, TF2 launches normally as it should. Any idea why textmode no longer works? Is anything required on windows, like .NET? Also.. I think TF2Idle v1.9.5 is not working properly. Receiving cmd.exe errors when attempting to idle. v1.9.3 works perfectly.

For the launching fix, you can fix it by verifying the files on all your accounts(if that doesn't work, it's not detecting a device that supports directX. Which is bad.)

RandomGamer342, thanks for replying. But I can idle without textmode just fine. It's textmode that's the issue, of which I can't figure out why. It might be sandboxie that is not supporting it (old version), which I still have to try to find out.
i started using this program and i have ran into an issue. I can idle with 2 accounts fine. However, when i get to 5 accounts at once i start getting server connection timed out. It doesnt matter if they connect to the same server or not. anyone know why this is

Might I recommend that you make 1 account run its own LAN game and have all your others connect to that local address.
What settings are you using to launch and what not? Post a SS of the window having issues? Also, when i tell the program to do +map itemtest the first accounts works. However, when i do the second account the same way the textmode for the first account goes away. how do i fix that as well
+exec idle.cfg -textmode -nosound -low -novid -nopreload -nojoy -sw +sv_lan 1 -width 640 -height 480 +map itemtest -maxplayers 32 -port 27100
This will run a listenserver on your local IP address port 27100 On all the other clients you want to connect to that you would do something like this:
+exec idle.cfg -textmode -nosound -low -novid -nopreload -nojoy -sw +sv_lan 1 -width 640 -height 480 +map itemtest +connect 192.168.1.10:27100 +clientport 29002
Change the IP address to whatever you machines IP address is. I also add a unique +clientport on each client because otherwise I've gotten various port errors after about 15 clients or so.
everything is fine when i start a textmode. but when i start up the second one the 1st one closes. anyone know a fix?
everything is fine when i start a textmode. but when i start up the second one the 1st one closes. anyone know a fix?
You are going to have to give more details about how you have things setup. Do you have multiple copies of steam for each account? Are you using mklink for the steamapps or do you have separate copies of that too?
i have put multiple steams on my computer. They are also on more then 2 hard disks. i dont have mlink because i thought having steam in different spots would work
Sounds like you need to go back and follow the directions on how to setup multiple accounts and whatnot. You need sandboxie in order to run multiple instances of steam on the same computer.
i do have sandboxie i have the full version. im sure everything is correct. could it be because im using vmware?
i do have sandboxie i have the full version. im sure everything is correct. could it be because im using vmware?
What are you using VMware for? Please be as detailed as possible about your entire setup otherwise no one will be able to tell you what's wrong. I cannot read your mind about what you are doing, seeing, or expecting to happen. The directions are very clear about how to set it up and get it running. As I said go back through the directions and see if you can find out where you made a mistake.
