i think they mean "it doesn't fit very well with tf2's characters" and whatnot. Look at the spy. is he a mass murdering psychopath that chops up his victims in their sleep? No. He's a covert and masterful assassin and a suave, sophisticated, roque and womanizer.
my other ire with the knife, for example, is that it's so bland minus the blood. i mean, where's the finer detail? look at the butterfly knife at least. the handle's got the screws on it, and the little inlay as well. the blade has the blood grooves too (the lines on it, i forget the technical term for them). Your knife is just a black oblong handle, stuck with a sheet of metal as the knife. give it more life, more character.
I just meant that the texture doesn't blend in with the other weapons :saddowns:.. I was just trying to help you improve it, because it has potential I think.

Also, yeah, let us take a look at that. When I see the Pyro, I don't think of him as being silly, and yet all of his misc and hat unlocks are lollercaust. I don't see the Heavy trying to embody Elvis. I think more scottish unlocks are needed for the Demo, not these bullshit racist ones. And when I see the Spy, especially after Meet the Spy, I see someone who is sick, sadistic, and not wanting to get blood all over their face when they're sticking people.
Anyway, I was following the tutorial I linked to earlier in the thread ([URL="http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1109465"]this one[/URL]) and I'm stuck.
I'm at the compiling part. He provided a QC file for the compiling, but it was written for a Demoman and NOT a Spy, so I'm not sure if the bip_head part matters (there is a bunch of coordinates). He also said I'm supposed to decompile an idle file... ? Do I need to do that or does it really matter? Can I just export my file as a sequence and save that as "idle.smd" and it work the same? Up until that point, this tutorial was wonderful. Now what the hell do I do?
You have to decompile what you want to your weapon/hat to replace, and use those idle file and qc ( the one you just decompiled )
Finally got it working, texture needs some work but the way the UVW mapped out makes it difficult to make anything continuous across a sphere.

What you've done so far is so awesome I don't really care if you stop now. I just love your new minigun. But try at least to finish it, because this is really some valve quality stuff that could go official.
This model decomplier is seriously begining to piss me off.

As I told you in the polycount thread and basing this on the view model shot you showed me, I think you should flip the sight so it looks inverted in the world model and fine in first person.
Not as noticeable that way IMO.
