Bad Habits Megathread: Stop calling for medic edition
184 replies, posted
I call for Help and Medic when I take even the slightest amount of damage even if I know there's not a medic on the team.
Also, if I play demoman, I always walk to the battlements bashing my bottle on the wall hoping it breaks before I get there :v:
I kept doing that as a new player because I thought broken bottles did more damage.

It did feel like it got more crits.
When I'm walking around to get somewhere.. I can't JUST walk.
I have to crouch-jump, say the Cheers/Jeers/Positive/Negative voice commands, while switching weapons.
Also when I'm jumping off a relatively high cliff, I do a 360°.
I've been told "You're the twitchiest player I've ever seen" quite a few times while playing Scout or Spy :v:

equip the targe and be god.
Overextending.
I have a tend rocket jump away from my medic, leaving him behind to die.
I believe there is a small comic strip that fits this perfectly.
Spamming minisentries
Spamming 'cheers!' and 'jeers!' commands
Spamming 'Help!' as scout
I also binded my p key to 'Move up' so whenever I play engy I spam gottam
im afraid to use an uber as in to not waste it
im also afraid of lsoing the uber
even more afraid of getting ubered and fucking a perfect situation completely up
all in all im afraid of medics with kritzkriegs and mediguns
im all in for quickfix though
Aiming directly at people as Soldier without using the direct hit.
Charging at Heavies as a Demoknight.
Neglecting to keep Medics alive.
Forgetting to extinguish teammates as Pyro.
The fact that I can't stop calling for a medic or spam the "Thanks!" while Im invisible with the cloak and dagger.

Similar to this, I always say "Nice shot" after feigning my death.
I remember using the C&D for "hide and seek" where I'd cloak in the enemy's base and spam voice commands until someone found me.
Good times.
I never use my ball with the Sandman

I am disappointed of you. Get yourself a Flying Guillotine and be a killing machine with those 2.

I did that, but I sprayed porn instead of using voice commands.
I liked doing it near someone looking down at the floor, so it looked like they did it, or near a group of people so that all of them would stop whatever they were doing and stare at it in confusion. :downs:

Good Idea ,but I use the Sticky Jumper(I forgot to mention this in that post).
I will try it though.
I spam voice commands so much that when I really need them, they are on cooldown.

I have the opposite issue as soldier, I sometimes aim everywhere but directly at someone when using the direct hit.
Also, as pyro I go out of my way to extinguish teammates, even when they're faster classes running away- I waste all my flamethrower ammo up trying to save them.
I have a habit of Q spamming in pretty much every game with the Q function in it.
Also I use voice commands extensively (though not spamming), even though I have a perfectly good mic :v:
Rocketjumping
Or well, trying to rocketjump when I have the shotgun out. I just imagine a volcano of spaghetti erupting from the soldier's pockets every time I do it.
Charging at heavies with my backscratcher...

With the Persian Persuader and the Splendid Screen their shit is usually wrecked each time.
Using the high-five taunt after killing an enemy to emulate me "waving" at them.

and then a teammate comes over and high fives you, leaving you both in the hands of an enemy demo who is setting up all 8 stickies by your feet
Stop at the middle of the battle to enjoy my beautiful loadout , then kick butts

Only ever done this once. Was a demo that kept getting crits and doing it when I would get near him.
So when I got a facestab on him I did it and he ragequit.
The urge to throw madmilk at heavies spraying you down as you think you'd outsmart them.
After every sniper shot, whether it's a miss or a bodyshot or a headshot, I always say Thanks. I've done it since I started playing TF2 in 2007, and at this point it's literally instinct. I don't think about it when I do it at all - people point it out to me and I look in the chat, and I see the chat filled with "(Voice) sndrec32: Thanks!" all the way to the top, with the occasional join/disconnect.
Thank you, based voice commands.
Lately been zooming out before firing my sniper rifle. :s
