You need GCFScape. Download and install.
Then go to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps and open 'team fortress 2 content' in GCFScape.
Try looking around in the GCF files instead of your Hard Drive.

No... TF2 was released in October, 2007 for Windows & Xbox 360 as part of The Orange Box, and it was released in November for the PS3.
For standalone, it was released April 2008.
It is the birthday of the original Team Fortress Quake mod tomorrow. They might release an easter egg or something like that.
