The "Weapon Fixing Megathread" - We fix weapons' stats and get in fights
well, switching your axtinguisher for a neon annihilator is a p significant trade, you're giving out the most aggresive melee in the game for a support weapon. pyros will have hard time to decide either support his team at the front or stay with the engineer in the back lines.
and please, don't talk 'bout "playing against it will be no fun" because the spy-cicle is one of the most rage-inducing weapon in the game and right now it suffers the same problem the dr and escape plan had: it rewards players with an out-of-jail card without any significant penalties.
I disagree. Losing your knife for that period of time severely limits your ability to do your job for while, and the immunity to fire doesn't last long enough to let you escape when you're under direct fire from a flamethrower unless the Pyro isn't very smart (not to mention they'll probably just airblast you into a corner anyway). It also has that weird silent killer/makes loud noises thing that I still don't really get but also alerts the enemy team to your presence more easily (unless, again, they're not very smart.)
I wouldn't mind it making the user wet as long as the wetness didn't show while you were cloaked and thus ruin the point of the Spy-cicle.

well, spies can still sap buildings or take down distracted snipers with their gun, so their job isn't that limited but i get your point.
How about that the wetness lasts for 3 seconds?
Pyro finds you, you're dead, 5 to 10 seconds of respawn (can be scaled for more if your team is gigantic) + walk to the area of interest.
Pyro finds you, no insta-kills for 15 seconds (you can't do most of your job), you still can stay in the area of interest if the pyro doesn't find you again.
Also you leave a footprint of your work as a form of ice statues, more statues, more paranoia in the other team, and more spy check.
it's a infuriating weapon to fight against, but it's op ? it's just one more tool for the spy do what he does, be stealth, that's why he have a weapon sloth for it called pda2, don't talk about being clumsy and let the pyro find you, sometimes I use the spycicle with the Invis. watch so I don't die to random sprays of fire, I think that the big problem is the combination of spycicle with the dead ringer, like the old ringer, for shielding abuse.
Use Spy-cicle to evade the fate of the Axtinguisher but get killed by a Neon Annihilator. Doesn't sound fun to me.
It's fair because that is never going to happen.

At the same time the pyro would be giving up their ability to axtinguish the other 8 classes, sounds fine imo

the dr wasn't also op but only annyoying and cheap, and it got nerfed, so i don't think the spy-cicle should be immune to balancing.
Engineer
Can equip all of Scouts pistols (excluding Shortstop of course)
Pyro/Soldier/Engineer
Can equip Family buisiness
(would reserve shooter help an engi or heavy at all?)
Spy
Spycicle doesn't make the Spy scream "FFIIIRE FIIRE FIIIIIIREEEE!!!"
Engineer
Why would an engineer need to jump a bit higher? Why would he need more health and no fall damage?
Why would an engineer need to jump a bit higher? Why would he need more health and no fall damage?
Plenty of engineer spots require you to build a sentry to get the height to jump on top of a building or ledge. The winger would facilitate doing this, hell you could even use a dispenser and that would save you a lot of running to get metal. I'm telling you this from an engy main. Not to mention since the pistol is mostly used to pick off people from afar, it would do more damage.
Everyone needs more health. Fall damage would allow some leeway in sentry jumping. Also using it with a Southern Hospitality would mean instakill from pyros.

I can't think of any reasons on why or why not.

Wrangler would take the pistol slot
Wrangler would take the pistol slot
Got me there :v:
Still the health bonus would be nice.

Fb on engi would be amazing
Rs on heavy wouldnt have much use besides fast quickswich and anti scout
Rs on engi would sort of work...sentry rockets lift people up. Wrangler and rs could be fun
I always wanted the Family Business on other classes. The extra ammo makes up for my shitty aiming.
Got me there :v:

And you wouldn't have to worry about fall damage on the off chance you're popped really high by a demo/soldier/pyro
Pocket pistol + gunslinger = 165 HP engys + overheal = 245HP engy, that would be funny to see...

Gunslinger + Pocket Pistol
Oh god please yes.
Better yet, Pocket pistol + Southern Hospitality, a stiff warm breeze would kill you :v:
Gunslinger + Pocket Pistol

I didnt get this homewrecker for nothing, lets go go go
Wrangler for Scout.
Wrangler for Scout.
can control the enemy engis sentry and kill them with it
gg
I have an idea for the pyro's afterburn
Make it so that afterburn gradually increases in damage the longer you are on fire, it would encourage people to run away to fire extinguishing sources which would assist your team during a push

Reverses 25 upgrade points per second on enemy building construction
-100% Sapper damage penalty
E.G: Spy saps Engie's lvl 3 Sentry for 4 seconds, Engie breaks it and the sentry is now lvl 2 with 100 upgrade points.
Also these stats would fix the red tape recorder for good

I for one want the fish to have its neck not stuck in the fifth dimension every other time I switched to it so I wouldn't have to shut down my computer in fear that an ancient evil would awaken from me using it and I would be dragged into a space marine fps based around bloom, blue color filters, and lots of strangely erotic grunts.

But dude, that is useful for Scout.

Hush, fish don't have necks, that thing would be its chest.
By the way, they wasted a perfectly fine chance of turning the fish into something other than a reskin in the setkilling patch, rather than giving those new stats to the poor Shortstop.

That's better.
Pretty stupid suggestion for the Sun on a Stick:
Crits on burning players and while the user is on fire
can control the friendly* engis sentry and kill them with it
gg
That could be kinda interesting honestly, it'd definitely make lighting scouts up a more risky business. But you'd also have kamikaze scouts looking for an excuse to get lit up.

Griefing. Friend on enemy team lightens you giving you free 160 damage per second. And you don't need a friend for this. The weapon should somehow punish the Pyro lightening Scout, not the entire team.
Maybe it should charge by taking the afterburn damage? More afterburn suffered = more damage dealt with the next swing. ??
i never got the SOAS's stats.
It does more damage to people on fire? It's like fucking lava and shit. Why couldn't it have a fire effect or something?
It's probably one of the most gimmicky weapons in tf2 that needs a major rework.
fire + milk would be a fun combo if it got changed to light people on fire.
