at first, i was obbsessed with getting an unusual hat, i think i opened about 30 crates, 20 of the keys i bought myself , while my friend was generious enough after I bought him minecraft he gave me about 10 keys :D
Recently though, after making an oath to never open a box again, i went and bought a key only to unbox a southern hospitality. At this point, i'm DONE with opening crates, ill either save them and hope i can eventually craft them, or ill donate to this delete-a-crate-a-thon, becuase i currently have about 13 on one of my other accounts.

I keep selling my crates for keys, and keys for hats.
My problem these days is that I don't have ENOUGH of them: There's always some rich dude on trade servers who gives a key for 8 crates. And a key is an insta-hat trade.

Fuck those keys. All the crates I've dropped this week have already clogged up my cap, and I've already hit it with Sunday. They should either make them craftable or have them not count towards the item cap, because right now it's fucking bullshit.
As I said, trading crates away for keys in 8-crate bunches is easy as fuck. Just dedicate 20 minutes to being on a trade server advertising the deal.

Anyway, every time I go on trade servers, I see too many people trading crates hoping people think they are worth something. Valve, please do something about these things. They are multiplying in my backpack like rabbits. MAKE IT STOP!
I wish Valve would add in these:
2 crates = 1 reclaimed, 4 crates = 1 key.

which you can use to make an equalizer, but only with three pieces of iron gained from breaking down metal-type weapons, same for an axtinguisher, or an eyelander!
Valve needs to add in craftable keys with multiple uses.
I was thinking of impletmenting a wood system. Something among the lines of 3 crates = 1 old wood. 3 old wood = 1 chopped wood. 3 chopped wood = 1 log. 3 logs = 2 scrap metal. To keep people from spamming this process and colleting shit tons of crates to craft alot of random hats, you should get a wood limit per week, like you can only craft 6 logs per week, giving you only 4 peices of scrap per week. A low income, but its better then having a butt load of crates collecting dust in your backpack.

I traded 11 crates for a Protector, then that for a Tossle cap, then that for my Golden whoopee.
I'm fine with them, you don't HAVE to open them, keep 'em and trade in mass for a hat or something

They're pretty useless to people who don't feel like buying keys and they're taking a lot of the fun out of drops. I get excited and then disappointed all within half a second.
