The TF2VRH seems to have two styles: [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/51082901/vrhoff.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/51082901/vrhon.jpg[/img_thumb] Also gif of the sapper fix [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/51082901/fixed%20sapper.gif[/img_thumb]
I don't think it's just the custom HUDs.As i think the killfeed seems much bigger than usual.
...no? Overlay of a screenshot from yesterday on top of a screenshot from a few minutes ago, with some transparency:
The other style of the TF2VRH is going to look like a solid cone when ubered.
Custom HUDs certainly aren't entirely broken - I have one that moves some elements around that's working fine.
DatGman: Your HUD broke and now the killfeed is default size.

Shame the cool looking headphones will end up being replaced with some tacky, garish promo from another game instead of a game promo that looked as nice as the headphones.
Well so much for v_models to c_models... ;_;
So has anyone tried launching the game with -vr without a rift? See what we can find.

Wait, the sapper's fixed? So much for those RTR anims then.
Wait, the sapper's fixed? So much for those RTR anims then.
these are probably those animations
What exactly changed with the sappers?
So has anyone tried launching the game with -vr without a rift? See what we can find.
I'll take a quick look, probably not too much. [editline]facepunch? More like slowpunch[/editline] Thought so, you're required to have a Oculus Rift as it requires the head-tracking software from it to run.
So has anyone tried launching the game with -vr without a rift? See what we can find.
The game doesn't launch and you're given an error message.
I want the Rift so I can play even worse in amazing virtual reality-o-vision
I want the Rift so I can play even worse in amazing virtual reality-o-vision
With them, you can pretend you're winning![SUB][SUB][SUB][SUB][SUB]I'll show myself out[/SUB][/SUB][/SUB][/SUB][/SUB]
What exactly changed with the sappers?
The ap sap and red tape used to clip pretty badly in third person. Now
Also gif of the sapper fix [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/51082901/fixed%20sapper.gif[/img_thumb]
No clipping!
The ap sap and red tape used to clip pretty badly in third person. Now No clipping!
No Clipping= Win!
I swear to god if the name the second style "Now you playing with power" I will have to buy it.
The normal style then should be "Child's Play." :v: [t]http://imgbit.com/images/c02d8384f11244618665.jpg[/t]
Hey so what happened
When looking around, but not aiming, does your class's head move independent of the gun on the player model?
I was thinking, now that with the TF2VRH promo we're having a retroactive kickstarter promo, this gives a light of hope in the future for the Skullgirls situation?
Early warning for: - Steam maintenance - occurring in 7 minutes from now - http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=34165759&postcount=573 The maintenance is actually at 6:00 PM CDT. The forum post originally had a typo of 7:00 PM CDT. This typo was incorrectly relayed as 7:00 PM CDT yesterday with the first early warning.
Huh...I would love to see someone use this and use a Webcam with commentary...the only tiem I would like to see webcam commentary....
I'll most likely buy one of those Rift headsets since the course I'm doing focuses on game engineering in 3D, so it'll prove to be kinda useful and cool to test. ...Plus I'd probably customise it to style like this: Also, sadface'd Steampipe wasn't released.
Also, sadface'd Steampipe wasn't released.
ohmygod how many times do I have to post this message:
The first thing to do is identify as many bugs as possible using the TF beta. sv_pure needs to be fixed. Then we will probably roll out Day of Defeat or HL2:MP and confirm the auto conversion works as well as we expect, so we don't have a huge number of people all downloading a full 10GB at the same time.
We're planning on releasing TF last.
I suppose the timeline is around 2-4 weeks before TF is released? (Please don't hold me on that --- it depends on what bugs we find in the TF beta!) We'll keep the users of each game well informed. We also now have the ability to release the server before the client, and we will definitely take advantage of that, probably releasing the server 1-2 days in advance of the switchover, so server operators have plenty of time to get setup. (Especially since they will have a full download, whereas clients should be able to take advantage of existing assets on disk.)
A screwup in the steampipe release for tf2 will be a catastrophe of 'spray liquid nitrogen directly on the server' proportions. There will be so many warnings about the specific date that we'll be sick of them by the time it pushes.
I was thinking, now that with the TF2VRH promo we're having a retroactive kickstarter promo, this gives a light of hope in the future for the Skullgirls situation?
Very hopeful, the only reason Valve even put the effort to bring out these retroactive promos is b/c Valve is very vested in the project. TF2 is taking its usual role of being the guinea pig of Valve's larger experimental plans. Valve cares about the project way more than they could care about extra Skullgirls DLC. It doesn't rule out exclusive retroactive promos for the Skull Girls drive, but there is a huge difference in the reason one got accepted (I think Valve created it themselves) while Skull GIrls items didn't.
Has sv_pure been fixed in the beta yet?
