So erm, when do you think Valve will send the codes for supporters and preorderers of the rift?
So erm, when do you think Valve will send the codes for supporters and preorderers of the rift?
After April 1st. Aka after the date that people could ask for a refund/try and get their money back + keep the code
I'd honestly be disgusted if they did that JUST for a freaking hat. :\
I'd honestly be disgusted if they did that JUST for a freaking hat. :\
Have you ever gone to the "wealthiest players" list (I think on backpack.tf) and see how much of them are rated as scammers? People will do anything despicable for a quick buck.
The targe turning exploit doesn't require them to use a controller for everything.
bind x +left/+right problem solved
Didn't they patch that ages ago?
i'm not sure, but i tried some time ago and it worked
Didn't they patch that ages ago?
Yes, but they didn't do that great of a job. It's still possible to turn faster by setting cl_yawspeed to 5000 and using +left/+right.
I'm considering the ramifications of combining the loadout glitch (you can equip any item, even conflicting ones, in each slot) with having three misc slots. For example: Quadruple unusuals. Imagine the terrifying cloud of black surrounding a Spy with a Flies Fedora and three Flies Phantoms, or something atrocious like four different 2012 Halloween effects at once. Also, a Scout wearing a Lime Max's, Lime Fast Learner, Lime Essential Accessories, and Lime Track Terrorizer. Nothing but pain. Of course, there also could be some really neat new tidbits. A Demoman with three Liquor Lockers on at once, or three Outback Intellectuals/Cockswain's Mutton Chops and a Full Head of Steam.
A Demoman with three Liquor Lockers on at once
That'd be the best thing ever. I WANT MY THIRD MISC. NOW.
So I spent 26 bucks on two Portal 2 soundtracks. lol
in a round about way you can, if you buy keys from the steam market then sell those to people on paypal
It scares me how it's possible to make a living just by playing Team Fortress 2. It's like play-testing, except everyone plays it, and you don't even have to play it by being on an Idle Server. Well, maybe partially make a living from it, unless you keep getting Salvaged Crates in every drop.
This isn't even funny I mean what the fuck it's like looking at gold and it makes platinum
The only issue is, as stated above, I can only buy games when in actuality I could use the cash more than anything.
Is that a blood mod?
Yeah, I uploaded it for you
So I got bored and made a list of items that could use buffs in order to spark some discussion. Since Valve evidently reads this thread if the last few updates are anything to go by I think this would be as good a time as any. The Winger: Needs to have, like, an entire new effect. As it is right now, it is a piece of shit. Sun-on-a-Stick: Incredibly situational and even then the benefit it gives is outperformed by the bat and the scattergun. Concheror: Eh I dunno it's not terribly useful compared to either of the other banners. The Detonator: Shit straight-up does not function properly. Needs to have the actual explosion fixed and the jump functionality restored. Sharpened Volcano Fragment: It is a melee-range weapon that sets things on fire. You know what else sets things on fire much better at melee range? The flamethrower. The Third Degree: Despite having no downside over the fire axe it is still incredibly useless. Needs an additional effect as a "fucking over medics" weapon like draining Uber or something. The Claidheamh Mor: Needs an additional effect to make it more useful. The charge duration buff is not enough as a standalone weapon. The Brass Beast: Currently only vaguely useful in MVM. Heavy miniguns not accurate enough to take good advantage of the damage bonus. Consider making weapon more accurate. The Tomislav: Usefulness completely ruined due to over-enthusiastic nerfing. Possibly could be saved by higher accuracy as well. The Dalokohs Bar: Outperformed by the Sandvich in every conceivable way. Rendered useless by friendly medics. Have +50 stack with overheal, perhaps have +50 last longer than 30 seconds. The Family Business: Functionally alright, but exceedingly boring. Needs additional attribute to make things more interesting. The Warrior's Spirit: Was never useful. +30% damage bonus is not worth the docked health. Needs complete rework. The Eviction Notice: In the same boat as the Family Business. Functionally decent but is exceedingly uninteresting as an unlockable alternative to the fists. Short Circuit: Firing rate needs to be increased and/or metal cost decreased in order to effectively counter rockets and sticky bombs. Jag: Building build rate increase almost unnoticeable. Needs to either be increased or the swing speed of the wrench needs to be increased. Quick-Fix: Needs to function more like it did in the beta: Quick Ubercharges with an AoE heal. Cleaner's Carbine: Interesting in concept and fun on paper but neither of those in practice. Needs firing speed penalty reduced. So yeah that's my take on what could use buffs. Thoughts?
The Winger: Needs to have, like, an entire new effect. As it is right now, it is a piece of shit.
I thought up about how it would give you an increased move speed on hit for a short period of time. Probably +15% faster move speed on hit for a second; not only can you make escapes easier, but with the #1 Fan set, you can charge up the Soda Popper a bit faster.
Sun-on-a-Stick: Incredibly situational and even then the benefit it gives is outperformed by the bat and the scattergun.
What it should get is something to throw at enemies. A piece of coal that does 30 damage against enemies, but doesn't stun nor cause bleed. However, when hitting burning enemies, it will crit, dealing 90 damage. At the same time, the damage penalty should be changed from -15% to -30% (30 -> 25 damage), since it gets a long-ranged attack.
Concheror: Eh I dunno it's not terribly useful compared to either of the other banners.
Faster activation time and longer buff duration, perhaps? +50% faster activation time (3s -> 1s) and +50% buff duration (10s -> 15s).
The Detonator: Shit straight-up does not function properly. Needs to have the actual explosion fixed and the jump functionality restored.
Yes to both.
Sharpened Volcano Fragment: It is a melee-range weapon that sets things on fire. You know what else sets things on fire much better at melee range? The flamethrower.
Increased afterburn tick-damage-interval, perhaps? What I mean by this is that for every 0.5s, the afterburn deals damage. If we were to give it like +35% faster afterburn rate, and possibly a bit more damage, it'd be a much better weapon.
The Third Degree: Despite having no downside over the fire axe it is still incredibly useless. Needs an additional effect as a "fucking over medics" weapon like draining Uber or something.
How about no. It should be entirely reworked with an actual downside, and stats that doesn't fuck over the Medics.
The Claidheamh Mor: Needs an additional effect to make it more useful. The charge duration buff is not enough as a standalone weapon.
Doesn't it have an extended melee range?
The Brass Beast: Currently only vaguely useful in MVM. Heavy miniguns not accurate enough to take good advantage of the damage bonus. Consider making weapon more accurate.
Could work.
The Tomislav: Usefulness completely ruined due to over-enthusiastic nerfing. Possibly could be saved by higher accuracy as well.
Could also work, or they could just increase the spin-up time from +10% to +20%.
The Dalokohs Bar: Outperformed by the Sandvich in every conceivable way. Rendered useless by friendly medics. Have +50 stack with overheal, perhaps have +50 last longer than 30 seconds.
Agreed with +50 stacking with overheal, disagree with longer duration. Instead, he should be able to eat it twice as fast.
The Family Business: Functionally alright, but exceedingly boring. Needs additional attribute to make things more interesting.
I like it the way it is.
The Warrior's Spirit: Was never useful. +30% damage bonus is not worth the docked health. Needs complete rework.
Considering how it seems like the Hibernating Bear set is oriented around having more damage, with more vulnerabilities, it should somehow retain that aspect. I can't think of any at the moment, but I'm sure there are ideas better than "more damage on melee, less health overall."
The Eviction Notice: In the same boat as the Family Business. Functionally decent but is exceedingly uninteresting as an unlockable alternative to the fists.
It's a downgrade, if anything, so it would be reworked.
Short Circuit: Firing rate needs to be increased and/or metal cost decreased in order to effectively counter rockets and sticky bombs.
I'll go with reducing metal cost; 35 metal to 20 metal usage.
Jag: Building build rate increase almost unnoticeable. Needs to either be increased or the swing speed of the wrench needs to be increased.
What it should do is use the same stats from the Eviction Notice. Normally, it'd be a downgrade, but considering that you can use the Wrench more than just whacking enemies, it'd actually work in this situation. Though, it should be toned down, like -45% damage penalty and +35% faster firing speed.
Quick-Fix: Needs to function more like it did in the beta: Quick Ubercharges with an AoE heal.
Wait, the Beta had an AoE heal? I'd gladly take that. Doesn't even need a faster UberCharge in that case.
Cleaner's Carbine: Interesting in concept and fun on paper but neither of those in practice. Needs firing speed penalty reduced.
On that note, I think the SMG itself should get a buff; all SMG-type weapons should have +2 more damage per shot (8 -> 10 damage). I also agree with reducing the firing speed penalty; should be from -35% to -25%. My 2¢.

That's without factoring in the Disciplinary Action as well.

However, below the max boost, it does provide a nice burst of speed.
Valve have increased the speed cap before, like when they introduced the Baby Face's Blaster.
And? What point are you trying to make here? It doesn't really justify anything about the BBF and the Winger speed-boost combo.

Now that I remember, it was about the fact that the #1 Fan items, bar the Winger, have some benefit for different types of movement. The Soda Popper benefits running around, while the Atomizer benefits jumping. If they were to buff the Winger, it'd have to either be a different type of movement (though I'm not sure what), or benefit one, or maybe both of those two in a different way. Be it no/reduced fall damage, or increased speed while going backwards or something similar. I just don't think something that would allow the Scout an even larger speed bonus while running forwards with the BFF would be appropriate for it.
