You've got quite a treasure there....
So if random stats are introduced, people are punished for not playing for as long as people with no lives? This can only go South (if random stats are introduced here).
I don't like the idea of random stat weapons - even if it doesn't really make a difference. I'd rather you just craft other weapons and cosmetic things like hats. The way it is now, the way people get items doesn't really affect gameplay at all. I'd like it to stay that way.
What the fuck makes people think that Valve would add a 'random stat' system? About the crafting system, Im thinking about the oldskool (mmo)rpg's. Example: item1+item2= metal metal+item3= item4 or item1+item2+item3= component1 item4+item5+item6= component2 component1+component2= hat You'll have to use (way) more resources than what you'll gain from it.
Finally this is introduced. But still no trading system....
I also hope they release trading very soon, it'll be a good companion together with crafting.

Valve would just increase hat drops if they wanted more hats abound, and dupes, like they say, mean jack shit. Why put together dupes for more dupes? Random stats are the only thing right now that would fit in with crafting.
I'm worried that people might use the achievment unlocker to unlock an infinite amount of weapons. Unless this has been fixed/is detectable.
TF2 MMO is looking more and more believable every update they bring out.
Team Fortcraft 2 But either way I'm certainly looking forward to this.
Although I'm not sure how TF2 would work with an open world.
there will be a wiki about recepies, will be sweet
Indeed it will be.
When has this ever been said by anyone but you? And if was only 5%, then what's the point? That's not accommodating different playstyles, that's changing the hood ornament and pretending it's a new car.
http://www.facepunch.com/showpost.php?p=18905409&postcount=9 And so what, you complain it's too different then complain it's too similar?
my gun will be the greatest gun of them all.

And my complaint is that if the changes were so minuscule that they had no affect on gameplay, it'd just be introducing yet another mechanic new players will have to have explained to them with almost literally no benefit.

I'm sure they'll do some tweaking to make it balanced between not too different but not too useless.
people could show recipes in their backpacks to up their tf2 items page views

Whenether it has 4 or 5 rockets, whenether it shoots faster - it is still a weapon that shoots rockets that do huge damage. Nothing changes.
Also, so many possibilities : a stunning hunstman smg that sets things on fire offensive medi-gun airblast that can crit or even a rocket launcher that might be charged up for a speedy rocket shot.
That's not how it works.

What's with all the new stuff in the backpack?"

A weapon collection would be awesome, especially if it would say from who those weapons come from!
