You can apparently trade items given to you by others when F2P- And sell them to Marketplace.
She sold it for lower than the standard (giving her exactly 0.49).
She bought a rocket jumper and is no longer f2p.

Actually I don't think this can work, as you need one game in your steam account's possession to trade, and F2P games don't count
