it's not the same, though. when the community was smaller and pretty much every time i felt like playing a certain map and joined, everyone was friendly, the conversations were always about new updates or what achievements we needed. if i was one achievement off or something somebody would always help me get it. it's so weird that weapons are just worthless random drops now and metal is essentially a currency. it was great because you could just play at any time and always enjoy yourself, now like 90% of the community just talks about hats and buds and unusuals and all this bullshit that just isn't interesting to me and never has been. the elitist economy side of games that are otherwise brilliant, like WoW or something, just kills the charm for me. my little brother still has to keep me up to fucking date about all the new hats he scammed off noobs and the new unusual effects and whatnot, and it just upsets me that this is what the game now revolves around.
i'll probably never get a perfect multiplayer experience like TF2 ever again.
