Its pops up [B]while[/B] you are playing which is super annoying. If any server in my fav list gets that pinion shit, ill immediately remove it, no matter how much i liked it before. Its one of the most stupid things ive ever seen and people should feel bad for using it. I rather dont play on any server than on a pinion server. :yarr:

No, it's never done that for me either. You guys must have some godawfully buggy versions of TF2 if you're having this much trouble with motds.

The only problem I have with Pinion ads is how they're everywhere for me [sp]when im playing on a pinion server[/sp] and I cant do nothing with them because they're not enabled for denmark for whatever reason,
oh and the rumor that it actually have pc destroying viruses.

I had no problem with motds that didn't have Flash or Pinion. But I have a problem with motds that have Flash and/or Pinion. And yet, currently, motds that act just as, well, messages, work fine.
No, it has to be TF2. It cannot be Pinion or Flash.
Real non-game related advertising in games are a bad idea at all. Even if theyre free to play.

In fairness to Pinion, it was not their responsibility for malware being distributed.
From what I know of the situation, there's a server mob called Skial, that switched from Pinion to another advertiser network. The other advertiser network was the one responsible for the malware through a java exploit, which was disabled in the March 19th patch.

Well it's just that it's rather annoying to be playing, and suddenly you have to watch a 30 second ad, and it sometimes breaks in horrible ways, I was playing on a homeguard sever with a friend, I had to leave because the ad broke and loud music was constantly playing so I could barely hear him though skype.

The issue is with servers that make it pop up during round and/or with timers longer than prepround(giving donators advantages in the beginning, like saigns/nighteam is hated for)

Having it pop up during the round is an option as far as I know, it's the server hosts decision.
Also 30 seconds really isn't that long I don't like pinion but I don't think it's the devil walking the earth like most people.

I don't believe that Pinion is the devil walking the earth. I believe that ultimately, the whole thing has been handled poorly.
The plugin is unreliable, the advertising is poorly targeted and often obnoxious, Pinion refuses to talk to us, instead clinging onto Valve like a crazy ex-girlfriend, screaming about how they have a special relationship that Valve refuses to acknowledge.
To top it off, their 'gaming news' that appears to the side of the ads is blatantly stolen from /r/gaming.
Not to mention the fact that building an uber in 30 seconds, without ubersaw or vita-saw help, is an interesting task, and the fact that an engy cannot get his buildings as fully set up in 30 seconds as he could in 60 seconds.
We wait long enough to start TF2 and connect to a server, so forgive me if I cannot share some people's enthusiasm to have a loud, boring ad blaring out at me for even longer.
Pinion started crashing me all the time recently.
I just turned off HTML MOTDs in advanced options, joined the server, waited 5 seconds, turned on MOTDs so I didn't get kicked. (no ads, just the countdown)
As of late, I've been having to wait 31 seconds for whatever reason.

Options, Multiplayer, Disable Sprays I guess?
Either that or it is in advanced options, or just use the mp_spraywhateveritis_0 command in console.
