I like the option of having hats, and it's kept TF2's community active for more than it would've if they hadn't been introduced. Just some of the ones we've got really do have that performance hit or unfitting look.

Well, months ago, I won a raffle by a guy named Fear. I was one hour late, though, so he denied me my item (a strange equalizer). He also left a wonderful comment on my profile:

Recently, I hopped on to my alt and messed with him, saying he won a raffle for the pyro "cook cap". I then pretended to realize, midway through the trade, that he had two hours to accept the trade. He freaks out, claiming that he's going to get me banned, I'm a scammer, etc. I then reveal to him that, yes, I'm Sock, and I'm going to show this to the mods of TF2R like I should have done a long time ago.
He launches a campaign against me, paying one of his (now ex-friend) friends to lie and say I scammed both of them. The friend had a change of heart, though, and never went through with it. A mod added me on TF2R, we spoke, and his ban reason has been changed to "not giving items" to "harassment". I have since dedicated a part of my Steam profile to our friend Fear, which he didn't like. He has attempted to pay me a whopping two crates if I remove the section from my profile, which I never will.
Here's some of his quotes to help you realize what I had to deal with for a few days:
"5:06 PM - [HD]F€ar: or you gouing to be a douche bag today"
"5:06 PM - [HD]F€ar: i am sipping on koolaid"
"[HD]F€ar: you must have had a huge oain in you"

It could be an old account being revived and he gets the drop now, could be the drop glitch from several months ago when around 90% of the community got the lament or it could be a fake drop.
