It's basically Evangelion 2.22's Battle with Sahaquiel TF2 edition.
The bad guy in the anime they are trying to stop in the scene is essentially a gigantic suicide bomb of death falling to earth.
2.22 is also essentially Evangelion "tons of nonsensical awesome scenes" the movie

but yea, watch 1.11 and 2.22, it's fucking amazing. 1.11 acts like the original TV show but 2.22 just goes full force insanity. Haven't gotten to watch 3.33 yet.
