I can understand the "tossing in" part, since even though Rappy is awesome 'cause he's a friendly intelligent raptor in a quaker hat, having him just pop up for no specific reason is probably as worthwhile and fulfilling as a random Sonic the Hedgehog in a Rubberfruit video or god forbid a guddamn pony clopping around in the background, and equally as nonsensical in the wrong ways.
But if you make it so that the video has a reason for him being there, or if the video focuses on him, then it could work. For example a "Rappy Joins The RED Team" video, in which Rappy learns how to properly fight and try to fulfil certain class roles, would probably work out well, since it would give opportunities for the character to get into comedic hijinks and kerfuffles associated with the class he's trying to emulate, like he tries to hold a gun correctly and struggles due to the weapons being shaped for human hands as opposed to raptor hands, or looking quizzically at the blueprints of a Dispenser since he doesn't know shit about machines because he's a dinosaur.
