don't need to airblast what's dead
don't need to airblast what's dead
even then, so what? a proper method of dealing with tank waves in the mecha engi tour is switching between the flamethrower and the phlog whenever you need to. now you may as well stick with the flamethrower. ech
I am secretly glad they nerfed it. Because those Russian kids, who thinks Phlog is useful everywhere, and can't even use it, trying to AIRBLAST robots...
MvM is actually one of the few places where the Phlog was useful, provided you play aggressively. It's like holding down the primary fire of the default Flamethrower, but you have to trade away some damage for free crit canteens and large medkits. It was a monster with Ammo Canteens.
*It was And now MvM is impossible to win
I am secretly glad they nerfed it.

And now MvM is impossible to win
Uhh...
Yup. I am glad Phlog was nerfed. Maybe people on MvM will finally find, that there is other Pyro weapons, because playing with 4 Phlog pyros is boring. And maybe they will tolerate good Snipers and Medics, but this is too much to ask...
well then i guess it's time to move on from the phlog and take advantage of using the almighty homewrecker because it does extra damage to machines right and valve wouldn't overlook something like that right valve would totally implement something this cool right right
You're all kinds of weird and stupid man.
A little. Guess I just need some more sleep...

Usual strategy for beating tank wave is "Oh, Pyro, solo the tank, we'll kill robots". So, all the team will be more interested in busting the tank and maybe anyone will not forget about cash laying in the smoke. And now, Medic needs to be some buffed in MvM. It's my favourite class and that fact about people getting annoying by the "useless class" makes me angry and sad. About Sniper, he can easily replace Soldier
Sniper can't replace anyone, it's Sniper who's actually replaceable because of tanks.
If anything I'd have thought the Phlog would've been nerfed in the regular game as opposed to MVM. I regularly play Pyro and love the thing, but I gotta admit it's pretty fucking powerful. Now there's really no reason to use it against the robots unless you like it and/or are getting ubered a lot.
The "fix" for the Cow-Mangler deflects... okay, admitted, it WAS a fix, but has anyone ever really complained about it? It didn't really need fixing if you ask me, very few people know that the Cow-Mangler is deflectable anyway. And I guess it'll stay like that, unless they fix the killicon for the deflect.
don't need to airblast what's dead
But if you knock them into one of the side pits, it forces ALL of the other remaining robots to have to sidetrack and go backward before being able to progress again while another dead bomb carrier is just another dead bomb carrier in a wave. <_<

When you play with the likes of Don Newman on a regular basis, you tend to hear a lot about people not wanting their teammates to throw him a bunch of easy projectiles.
One of the fall crate hats have been unboxed
Cow Mangler critflects were fun, but c'mon, let the poor spehs mehreens use their useless toys in peace already.
Sniper can't replace anyone, it's Sniper who's actually replaceable because of tanks.
Sniper can replace 6 of the classes because he is overpowered in the hands of a good sniper. Phlog is still the best tank busting weapon in the game and the weapon you should use 99% of the time.

And tell me, what would do more damage now, stock, with random crits and 10% more damage, or Phlog, with no crits, 10% less damage, and a charge bar that now takes years to build when taking on tankey?
But if you knock them into one of the side pits, it forces ALL of the other remaining robots to have to sidetrack and go backward
actually robots will continue on their way [editline]15th May 2013[/editline]
Most snipers couldn't hit a wall reliably, let alone a mobile target.
thats most snipers you have seen, and youve probably voted off a few good ones i reckon dont generalize.
thats most snipers you have seen, and youve probably voted off a few good ones i reckon dont generalize.
I give snipers a wave or two to show their use. But when you go through a bag of rotten apples, looking for a good one, it gets demoralising. Especially when some of the things in the bag aren't apples, they're rocks.
Phlog still does more damage. It only takes a long time if you are flaming 1 target at a time. Flaming the tank AND the bots behind it recharges it in like 2 secs.
admitedly, it was like the old endless dead ringer = OP as fuck when things were favorable to you. yet only the low tier mvm missions you could REALLY rely on the pyro soloing a tank. it only takes a single crit soldier to render the phlog useless(and the pyro attached to it) and that was it. its still fun to use agaisnt new, unexperienced players when the chance arises(no one competent enough should ever get killed by a phlog pyro). a well timed critboost can demolish an entire enemy team in seconds if you caugh them off guard.
