We may have gotten a long-awaited major update in 2012, but it doesn't come close to the amount of content we received in 2011.
The quality of 2012's content was superior, though, and that's what matters in the end.
The quality of 2012's content was superior, though, and that's what matters in the end.
I suppose you're right, but I would appreciate it if Valve were to go back to the new-item-a-week thing they did last year. It wasn't much, but it at least kept us busy.
the only thing related to tf2 that i'm looking for this year, besides steampipe, is the robotic boogaloo update.

There needs to be an all-class mustache misc. Pyro would have a taped-on paper one, and Scout's would just be nothing.
The quality of 2012's content was superior, though, and that's what matters in the end.
Map wise I would disagree, in 2011 we got Nightfall, Frontier, Lakeside, the Koth version of Badlands, Barnblitz, Gullywash and Foundary. In 2012 all we got were Doomsday, Kong King and the 4 MvM maps. Though the quantity was about the same I don't consider Doomsday and Kong King to be as good as most of the 2011 maps, and while the MvM maps are decent enough for that mode the focus on those maps over PvP was a bit of a disappointment for me since I'm not a huge MvM fan. Weapons wise I would agree with you, it feels like Valve spent more time working on the weapons and coming up with unique stats compared to most of the + - weapons stats of 2011.
I just noticed my usual image hoster went from ".net" to ".com", making all old links broken. Thus the banner for the 9th speculation thread is broken. THIS IS HORRIBLY FRUSTRATING
There needs to be an all-class mustache misc. Pyro would have a taped-on paper one, and Scout's would just be nothing.
No, the Scout's would be like 5 tiny strands of peach fuzz.
No, the Scout's would be like 5 tiny strands of peach fuzz.
I wanted to say that but couldn't think of how to word it.
No, the Scout's would be like 5 tiny strands of peach fuzz.
What if it looked like those crappy mustaches that kids try to grow? Kinda like this. Tried the beta Loading slow as fuck, the only server had a shitload of costum shit, the motd made my sound loop for 1 minute after it came back to normal, the performance was pretty bad, and took 1 minute to disconnect from the server What the hell
There isn't going to be a super-amazing update for a long time. Cosmetics don't count unless they're REALLY good; and they're usually not. I'm tired of kitschy, clownish material. More of this: [T]http://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/c/c8/Backpack_Last_Breath.png[/T] Less of this: [T]http://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/9/96/Backpack_Sydney_Straw_Boat.png[/T] And I really do take umbrage with Valve's legendary indolence. Maybe some of you are aware that Valve was going to implement the Tesla cannon in the Workshop for Heavy--on the condition that it be remade into a Tomislav reskin. Seriously Valve? Bad enough that you're contemplating flooding the game with more worthless trash; you also try to introduce a reskin of a terrible weapon.

Speculation: Instead of another company attached to a big update like Sleeping Dogs, TF team is working with contributers to make the next update. It won't be attached to any upcoming game with promos etc. Just a tf2 update but with the help of contributers.
You're tired of everything, we know, no need to post anymore.
Straw men are excellent fallacies aren't they? I'll never be tired of maps and weapons. You know, meaningful content.
Question about Steampipe... I have an alt account that I use on the same system and they use separated tf folders, so when TF2 is moved to common the accounts will share one directory right?

Contributors are already pretty much providing the content for the updates. And aren't the comics and such made by freelancers?

Considering what I presume is TF2's now small team, wouldn't it be good if they let some major contributors well... Contribute? Like, they keep in communication, say "Hey can you help us with this, we haven't got much time left until something big", they give 'em a hand, maybe get a small cheque.. Then all is well, right?
How many people work on TF2 anyway?
How many people work on TF2 anyway?
The janitor and his pet chimp.
The janitor and his pet chimp.
Secretly named Poopy Joe.
The janitor and his pet chimp.
Don't forget the potted plant.
Don't forget the potted plant.
The potted plant has so many good ideas, but it's only the shit that the chimp flings around that gets in. Damned biased janitor.
