Didn't the Pomson get some sort of damage boost too?
I tried using it a few times before and it certainly doesn't feel like it's dealing out more pain than a Shotgun would.

August 15, 2012 Patch
Removed player penetration from The Pomson 6000 and boosted the damage to compensate.
Seems like only one has the community sparkle still.
EDIT: Oh, that's not Pentadact.

Huh, some of those don't even make sense. A scattergun whose bombs shatter of the surface and it has a negative attribute of a huge amount of health, along with making scout immobile.
He's had that Scattergun for a *long* time. attribute IDs have changed since then.
Phlogistinator is an excellent example of how newb weps should be done - very fun for new players, not so much for better ones. Soda Popper, on the other hand... That's just plain OP. Minicrits 40% of time, two shots at once, instareload...
Pomson is also no fun in the hands of a gunslinger engineer.

"newb weps" shouldn't exist in the first place. By catering to the lowest common denominator you only dilute and dumb down the game for other players. Ideally all weapons should be viable for all players with the more skilled players being able to use them at a higher level of proficiency. Equalizers have no place in a competitive multiplayer game they allow terribads to keep being bad and cheapen the experience for others. We might as well have deathstreaks.
The Phlog is bullshit in arena though.
Oh, hey, I bought Bioshock Infinite and the pre-order percentage moved from 87% to 88%, I feel useful :v:
(I was going to buy the game sooner or later, TF2 items are a plus in my book, but I'm really looking forward to play the game, the wait has been too damn long).

So you don't want to have something to welcome new players... In a free to play game.
Valve knew what they were doing right then.

Don't talk about Amazon, please.
They don't even accept Paypal :c
I don't know, chat about possible future gorduborder's weapons seems pretty relevant to me.
It's almost time for the annual Valve holiday!
I hope they release something before they go.

I don't think they should add weapons that cater to new players no. It's bad design and hurts the overall game. The goal should be to teach players the mechanics of the game so that they can get on it's level not lower it down to those players. It needs to be approachable but with a moderate to high skill ceiling. I'm not saying everything has to be super meta or centered around competitive/high level play but the easiest weapons to use should be the stock weapons with unlocks promoting alternative play styles or risk/reward type bonuses. TF2 was designed to be a fairly straight forward game when it came to learning how to play and if new players are unwilling to learn it's basic mechanics or so inept that they absolutely cannot pick it up at a beginners level then no I do not want those players to come to TF2. I don't think I am alone in thinking this and I would find it hard to believe that this is an unpopular opinion.

Oh, hey, that would be hilariously awful if it was 1 person to 1%.

Yep, that's exactly what those weapons do.
You wouldn't use phlog now, would you? But it helps those other pyros to have fun, and if they get more interested in the game they'll be told to try out flamethrower/degreaser sooner or later anyway.
Like, you may know that ambassador crits on headshot, but as long as you can't connect your shots with the revolver it will be no use. Or if you have a rocket launcher with 4 rockets, why use it if you can't connect a single one? Temporarily use liberty launcher to learn. These weapons are crutches, but in the good meaning of the word.
With over 4000 hours in the game I still use the phlog on occasion, if you can actually ambush decently it's a very good weapon, I don't see why people think that skilled pyros can't use it and the backburner effectively.

The thing is while on the backburner you have at least a few reflects the phlog's lack of any is what kills it. It really needs buff banner style mini-crits to make it a better pushing tool.
It's at tough times like this that I miss Testinglol. His vague hints and leaks were an inspiration to us all.
Max, you are a terrible person.
Yeah, and now testinglol is leaking somewhere on SPUF or reddit or god knows where.
goddammit

Nobody's got much speculation about future updates in any case. Banned members included.

Someone should really email the TF2 team about the broken facial flexes on the ninja cowl I feel like it would be easily forgotten.
in most cases they won't actually reply, but they'll "reply" with the fix shipping in a patch after a few weeks/days/hours
I don't think they should add weapons that cater to new players no. *long post*
This is a game where not only can you deal triple damage for doing absolutely nothing, the only way for it to be competitively viable includes removing half of the content.
TF2 is never going to be a proper competitive game. Compare it to Dota 2, Counter-Strike, whatever. TF2 is a casual easy-to-pick-up F2P shooter. That's it.
So stop acting like adding crutches is something they haven't done and won't continue doing.

I don't see what the bug is.
you're crouching and the camera is going with you. is the issue that it's not using the crouching animations?
may or may not be because you're in itemtest
