The sound thing was really odd. Not really sure why they needed a workshop tag for it.
I assume they made it a big thing because the sound team need something to do? i mean the sound for a game doesn't take the same amount of time making the rest of the game does but you've still got to pay them and give them stuff to do for it all year round
Nothing like hear annoying micspam twice and at a higher pitch
Especially if it's a static-filled low-fidelity take on some grunge rock band song that the parrot is clearly straining its throat out over attempting to replicate. I find sound to be an extremely important factor in TF2 gameplay. Audio cues let me know which classes are around the corner, what weapons are being fired, and if there is a spy trying to go for mischief behind me. The Boom Bringer's added sounds were very tastefully done, being taunt-only. I don't think I'd want to have a bunch of really silly high pitched repeated chat lines tossing what would effectively be white noise on top of every other audio cue I try to keep track of. Though given Pyroland kind of makes everything a flurry of near-identical laughter voices, it might be slightly more appropriate there if it had to go somewhere.
GUYS, GUYS... Chill, I believe he meant the voice calls for like when you say thanks or call out a spy..

Specifically, giving every ranged weapon unique firing sounds. Lecture valley catapult = telepault?

As much as I did enjoy what they did with last Halloween and with MvM most of it was tied directly to those game types. Honestly I would love more domination lines, especially for the medic. I know they bring some of the actors in every now and then but they don’t seem to utilize their talent well; the exception of course being Rick May (Soldier) who comes in all the time. I guess it’s really easy to write the soldier persona next to everyone else.

What is Sonic Racing was just a test and Valve decides it would be cheaper to hire non-SAG hobos to be the new voices of the team?
What is Sonic Racing was just a test and Valve decides it would be cheaper to hire non-SAG hobos to be the new voices of the team?
Not a chance. Unless one of the voice actors sadly died, maybe?
Not a chance. Unless one of the voice actors sadly died, maybe?
I mostly meant it as a joke but don't they have to fly out some of these guys from as far as Texas? How hard can it be to find a local imitator based in Washington?
Not a chance. Unless one of the voice actors sadly died, maybe?
If someone did die, we'd have heard about them by now.
What is Sonic Racing was just a test and Valve decides it would be cheaper to hire non-SAG hobos to be the new voices of the team?
I recall reading somewhere that the voice actors in Sonic Racing were actually the original voices, just without the proper filters placed on top of them. It's a bit interesting, actually, to know that the voice of the Heavy as he appears in TF2 isn't the same voice that the actor spoke in the recording studio. It's a bit like how Orson Welles technically voiced Unicron in the first Transformers movie, but because of Welles' poor health his voice had to be filtered until it was to the point that anybody could have voiced the character since none of Welles' original voice was left.

Reilly

I wonder if there will be any promos for far cry 3 blood dragon. A all class metallic left eye would be pretty cool. Left eye because thats hwo it is in the game and it would then be wearable with the googly gazer.

EDIT: oh loosen your panties from your cracks, dumb raters.
Not tf2 related but is there a smnc/awesomenauts facepunch subforum?
all class robo eye would be better.
You know what I think an all class roboeyepatch badge would be the best option here.

Technically, the very action of getting a crate as a drop could be seen as a key advertisement

Of course, it would only work with enemy team members.
I think the fact that TF2 is rated M for Mature, meaning it's targeted at adults, will be a big factor in that.
I'm thinking Steampipe could either be the optimization salvation for TF2 or everything could go terribly wrong (especially on low-end machines). What do you guys think? -Rainbows for Steampipe curing all glitches, crashes and cancer. -Disagree for Steampipe causing more problems than fixing them. -Dumb for "Whut?"

TF2 is...well.....old. It's not gonna work like with Dota 2, but it should certainly help, if not immediately, then at least with time and tweaking. My guess is that the TF2 team is working pretty heavily on it, so once thats finished we should see some nice updates.
