Major Update Speculation v19: Official Sponsor of the Winky Smiley - Games

You know what, forget what I just said, I remembered that I heard here on Facepunch "Want you gone" 3 months before Portal 2 release, and everyone was saying "don't worry, it's a scrapped/non final song" and I wanted to shoot myself in the foot when the song came in and my face disfigured. [B]I'M AFRAID NOW GUISES.[/B]

Why exactly a 15-minute video, Valve? And why now? I think the most curious aspect of this 15-min short is their reasoning behind it. They've always used the Meet the shorts to signal or draw attention to a major update or addition to the game (F2P/Uber, Pyromania, MvM). With SFM and the Saxxys to celebrate and encourage the creativity of their fans, they've always been big supporters of telling us "you guys make stuff even better than we do!" So obviously if they're going to devote time and effort into making a TF2 movie, they're going to have a good reason for doing it. So I think the real question is... what will they be releasing alongside this film? So little has been teased in the last year that it really could be anything. The new Steampipe migration, a really huge content update, a farewell to major updates, a reboot of class updates?

Ok how about this. Someone in who lives in Seattle break into valve HQ and steal all the info on the movie. Just pretend its CTF. First go for a tour of valve and check for security cameras. Then later that night find a way in and sneak to the tf2 department. The tf2 team is still on vacation so nobody will be there. Once there use an external hard drive to copy any update related files. Or if your impatient take the hard drives out of the computer and leave a note saying "Its for the ARG ;)"
