I can see the next update notes already
-Added Cheaters lament (slight return)
-Added steam pipe support
-Added promo items
-Updated localization files
It'd be great if they were to re-release the Lament, and all previous ones are changed to "The Righteous Ring", which is an actual clean floating halo with a more pronounced glow

" While others were consumed by their continuing greed for headwear, you remained steadfast in your honest haberdashery. For that, you have been rewarded - again! "
As implied by this description, new/updated halos would only be given to those who have never been trade banned/restricted for any reason, and have played the game for at least a year.
wait wtf happened?
I just realized, Valve is probably going to rename the Boston boom-bringer for pretty obvious reasons

"The new york tower toppler"

Knowing the media:
Valve is being sued today for a item in the game called Team Fortress 2 called the Boston Boom-Bringer. People believe the people who did the bombing got the idea from this item.

The sad thing is that will probably happen, given how people today are complete morons.

Just like how we have Scatterguns named 9/11, (Which I don't understand how the two correlate) we'll soon have Grenade Launchers or other Explosive weapons now referencing Boston Boom-Bringer.
I feel kind of bad for thinking that coincidence funny.
I'm going to grit my teeth and punch a wall if people do start making TF2 Name/Desc jokes with it though.

Can someone tell exactly what's so bad about Boston Boom-Bringer?
Can someone tell exactly what's so bad about Boston Boom-Bringer?
In layman's term: Big boom happened in Boston.
Coincidentally, the item's name is similar to the event.

there was recently a series of explosions during the boston marathon, so "boston boom-bringer" is a touchy name for it right now

If you want to discuss it, you're welcome go here: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1261527
I don't think they'll change the name. It's quite obvious that's not what it's in reference to the link isn't there unless you make it there and changing it won't make it less offensive as name tags exist and asshats will be doing the while shebang no matter what. Regardless of if it even comes to that I don't really mind either way. I think that's really all that needs to be said about it that hasn't been said already, my sympathies go out to those affected and further discussion should be done in the thread linked.
Don't forget TRACK TERRORIZER XD HAHA EPIC

Everyone who rated me dumb... confirmed too dumb to understand irony?
Or are they mad that I'm making fun of people who think a tragedy is funny?
they thought your joke was shitty regardless of whether or not it was ironic

ahaha oh my god
Make the deflector only available as an MVM reward
add a new mvm map
Boom cash-cow time.
that would make the game effectively "pay2win" (which it is already dangerously edging on)
that would make the game effectively "pay2win" (which it is already dangerously edging on)
What are you talking about, it already has. MvM has the option where you pay to win crap weapons or possibly a strange/hat.

the weapons are just reskins though
if you made a weapon with unique functionality (the deflector) only available through MVM...
It'd be nice if it was just a "kill (X number) Giant Deflector Heavies in MvM" achievement reward, not tied to Mann Up at all.

Naturally of course this could be easily farmable
But what achievements aren't these days
I miss the old way of unlocking weapons. Getting stuff for achieving other stuff encouraged me to try more classes and modes and playstyles and just felt... Good.
Make one unique weapon per class that's tied to MvM (Deflector, Rapidlauncher, etc) and obtainable by MvM achievements only, and I'd be pretty happy.
Is there an ETA on the Ready Steady Pan medals?

Do that, add new achievements for all the new weapons so far, and give a new weapon in a certain order after you unlock five achievements.
I don't care if that would make the game have over 1,000 achievements, I want my weapons without needing blind luck drops to get them. (Or having to wade through trading sites/servers and pay ridiculous amounts of metal for them.)
Getting a hat (something untradeable) for a class after you clear all their achievements would be cool.
Like... 100% Engineer, get a Ten Gallon. That'd be HUGE incentive to try and ace every challenge the class has in store, and it'd really crystallize your efforts into something tangible.

Nobody liked this idea back when hats were rare and hard to come by, and achievement servers and achievement managers were commonly used to get the new weapons.
Now that hats have been 99 cents in the store and there are hundreds of different hats, I'd be for it.
I'd be up for giving them an untradable version of the recently retired hats or one of the older hats for doing it now, or even a little badge like the MvM badges that track how many or which class achievements you have completed.
If you actually spend game time achieving stuff, playing many rounds and maps and loadouts over several days, after acing Engineer you'd get:
Well-Earned Texas Ten Gallon (brick red text)
Though it looks like a simple ten-gallon hat, this modern feat of engineering actually contains more moving parts than a level 2 Sentry Gun.
It reeks of the foul yet satisfying smell of blood, sweat, tears and countless hours spent mastering The Engineer.
If you somehow obtained all the Engineer's achievements extremely quickly, you'd just get an ordinary Ten Gallon, meaning there's an actual incentive to getting the achievements through gameplay.
That description isn't nearly long enough.
They would have to fix tons of achievements, though
(Like jarate ones only working when the planets and sun align, shiv thrice being gained if you backstab a spy that has stabbed two other people, dead heat sometimes awarding with a second of difference, etc)
