I'm still hoping that it is a secret prize in PN2 and they are not advertising it. :v: Win Sam's Hat 20 times and win his weapon.
He only offers the hat before you win it. thats the catch.
I´m always the guy who asks what´s going on, so this is still the poker night 2 speculation thread? something new?
I think Telltale should also be known as Mr. Great Price. I mean, their games are great and are good prices.
I think Telltale should also be known as Mr. Great Price.
For just $5 you get a great game, an education on the rules of poker (if you've never played), and a bunch of items for other cool games. Meanwhile at Activision: $10 for 3 maps.
I´m always the guy who asks what´s going on, so this is still the poker night 2 speculation thread? something new?
Not really, since it's available for pre-order on Steam.
I'm really looking forward to the dialogue in Poker Night 2. I am a bit surprised that Brock's knife is going to be a cosmetic, but hey. I'm actually buying this one for the gameplay. :D Switching gears, has there been any news on the Scout/Medic Grordbort items?
This was from a month ago, but here is everything.
Hello, Mr. Broadmore! It is my understanding that you have to do with the Dr. Grordbort weapons in Valve's game, Team Fortress 2, including the Victory Pack for the Soldier, the Moonman Pack for the Pyro, and the Brainiac Pack for the Engineer. On 12 February, 2012, concept art for The Rocketboy pack for the Scout and the Mann of Science pack for the Medic were uploaded to the Steam Workshop. On 8 June, 2012, models for the cosmetic items for the two packs were uploaded to the Steam Workshop. I have several questions about this. These are in no particular order of importance and are all relevant. #1 Why have the models of the weapons, the Mule Molester, Saboteur 66, Mercy Killer, and the beautiful Anti-Death Ray not in the workshop but the cosmetic items are? #2 Why have we heard nothing of these packs from Valve? #3 Does Valve not want to work the Dr. Grordbort stuff anymore? #4 If Valve (or you lovely Dr. Grordbort people) do not want to make the models, particles, and stats, why not hand it over to the Community? We make tons of stuff on the Workshop that all turn out very well. Some people to recommend are the TF2 Facepunch Community. http://facepunch.com/forumdisplay.php?f=277 #5 My friend of the username Yandere (http://steamcommunity.com/id/monogatari/) asked you at Comic Con about the packs and apparently you responded that the next sets will only be cosmetic items and have no weapons (and apparently you designed a Dr. G sentry that would not be balanced). My question about this is: what does Valve (or the TF2 team) not like about the weapons? Did you make stats that they did not like? Were the models for the new weapons too complicated? For the stats: What were the proposed stats that you gave (if any)? And if Valve (TF2 team) made these stats and deemed them over-powered, why can't they change that themselves? Why not hand over the stats to the community? For the model: If the model would be too complicated, why not make it less complicated or have a lower poly-count? Why not hand the modeling over to one of the experienced modelers of the community (privately)? I would appreciate it if you answer my questions. I hope I did not get anything wrong about this.

I'm glad to hear you liked the Dr. Grordbort's rayguns and items for TF2 - we loved making them. To be honest I'm not exactly sure why those new items have not appeared. I would try emailing Valve (I think some prominent members there have made their email addresses public). We worked closely with the TF2 team at Valve on the first packs, they were a lot of fun to make and we'd love to make more. I appreciate the offer of community help but we have tremendously talented artists here who made the first packs and if we're lucky enough to make more they'll handle that side of things. Thank you for the suggestion though. There are hopefully plenty of ways we can work with the various communities in the future. To your question on stats - the TF2 team creates all the gameplay and stats. Thanks for the questions, and while I'm sorry that we can't oblige with new Dr.G TF2 items at the moment (that is in Valves capable hands) you can be sure that we are working away on something equally exciting for the future. Cheers!

Has anyone mentioned that they dropped the "At the Inventory" part of the title? It's just Poker Night 2 now. I wonder why they decided to drop the secret society gimmick?
It might just not take place "At the inventory" [editline]8th April 2013[/editline]
For just $5 you get a great game, an education on the rules of poker (if you've never played), and a bunch of items for other cool games. Some games try too hard to be $60 which is stupid that that standard even exists, not all games are worth the same.
I think they just dropped "At the Inventory" to shorten the title. Also, Steam updated their store page and has revealed an April 23rd release date for Poker Night 2.
Also, Steam updated their store page and has revealed an April 23rd release date for Poker Night 2.
Hm...
I'm frankly delighted that we can be rid of that god damned announcer that was in the first poker night.
I'm frankly delighted that we can be rid of that god damned announcer that was in the first poker night.
Tonight's stake will be 10,000 dollars ughhh, Can't tell you how many times I was forced to hear that...
Whats wrong with him? It's Reginald Van Winslow from the tales of monkey island series.
Tonight's stake will be 10,000 dollars ughhh, Can't tell you how many times I was forced to hear that...
Looking forward to "Tonight's stake will be 20,000 dollars." :v: Jokes aside though, I imagine GLaDOS will have interesting dialogue unlike Winslow/"The Dealer," the Monkey Island character from Poker Night 1. Telltale avoided officially establishing "The Dealer" as being from Monkey Island because (I'm guessing) of legal issues since LucasArts at that time had management which did not allow others to use their franchises. Because of this, Telltale only had to allude to him being from Monkey Island by using the same model and voice, but changed his clothes and name. I'm guessing they wanted their Monkey Island cameo under the radar, and decided to avoid giving him extensive presence in the game.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/231430/ Company of Heroes 2 page has the hats again. At least now you get the items despite the current bonuses still not being as good as the old one.
Wonder if the CoH hats being taken off the page was because someone copy+pasted the beta updates and somehow pasted over the hats part and forgot to replace it.
I highly doubt any of those will even make into the Nerd game cause of copyright, same reason why they never gonna be seen on TF2. Just to add to that, I know in the past Valve has aqcuaired the rights or talk with lawyers about adding referencial items before (like the Team Captain), we have items related to a lot of known IP's, but here we're talking about Nintendo, do you know how many money Disney had to put to have Bowser in Wreck-It Ralph? And the money they were asking to put Mario in the movie was INSANE, I doubt Valve want to get throught that.
Thing is, the Power Glove was a Mattel thing, not a Nintendo thing per se. They'd have to get copyright from Mattel.
In regards to the Long Fall Loafers, I think I said this last thread, but it seems to me we'll be having a boss round with GLaDOS after all the others are taken out based on one of the promotional screenshots.
Is there any way to get the reddit hats..?

You've got only a few minutes to beat her, or you die of neurotoxin. Would certainly feel like a climactic duel of wits.
Well, it looks like now I've gotta learn how to play poker.
Tonight's stake will be 10,000 dollars ughhh, Can't tell you how many times I was forced to hear that...
Although I'll miss hearing Nyeaah Full House!
I won't, considering I lost to a full house when I had two aces in my hand and a pocket full of hope.
No multiplayer in PN2? That's a bit disappointing.
Wait a minute.. So Poker Night 2 is coming out when TF2 goes SteamPipe? April 23rd will be a good day.
I wonder if anything will break when they go steam pipe
I wonder if anything will break when they go steam pipe
Everything will.
Everything will.
Oh come on. I haven't broken since the hatless update, what're the chances of that ever happening again huh? Like... 1 in 60? That's kinda low!
After you've won all the other prizes and won another match, GlaDOS raises the stakes by offering "a valuable position at Aperture Science" (which turns out to be just "test subject") And then all the screens in the background display a timer.
All in.
I'm guessing they'll have improved their AI after seeing how laughably easy it was to psych them out in the first game. That'd be really cool actually. In the case I mentioned, GlaDOS would be ultra-tough with no tell, almost like she's cheating (she somehow knows your hand half the time) If you beat her, she goes on about some sort of plan failing, glaring seemingly at you scoldingly, but then a metallic clank can be heard to one of your sides, and when you turn around, you see Atlas/P-body hitting eachother in frustration. They'd been looking at your cards the whole time and telling GlaDOS, but they only got it right half the time because they were arguing about it every single time. "Oh well," she reluctantly says, "Congratulations. And as promised..." Suddenly you hear machinery whirring and buzzing, and once you look down you've got longfall boots on, "... Have fun testing." Trapdoor opens under your chair and fade to black with one of the Portal 2 themes playing over a credits roll.

They could make a joke about it with one of the cameras purposefully coming out into your view with GlaDOS remarking on how "sorry" she is for accidentally peeking.
