It's rated dumb because we're sick of Smashman advertising the damned wiki. We all know about it, we all know he's got a community knife, we all know that it's a good source of information, and had he waited about 5 minutes, we all would've known it was now official when someone posted the thread about the blog update.

I know everybody picks on Smashman a lot for being a smug bastard, but he has a good reason to.
I'm at least glad that VALVe finally updated the blog and mentioned the next major update,
instead of crushing our dreams and issuing us another major buzz-kill from the second we saw that the blog was updated.

Do you guys actually sit through the Youtube ads too? If so, how has all the time spent waiting for the ads to end not been enough incentive to install AdBlock? You can install the extension in the time it takes to view ONE ad on Youtube.

It's not like he's going "OH HEY GUYS BY THE WAY DID YOU CHECK OUT MY WIKI?" If someone else posted about this blog (which they already did, but later), you would be all "Oh, hey, cool. Nice job, smashman!"
Community weapons aren't really something to brag about since every tom, dick, and harry, seems to have one nowadays.
More so this is a big triumph as all their work is now being hosted on Valve servers rather than servers they've provided theirselves. This takes a ton of stress off those who fronted their own money to provide this info.
