A Christmas update similar to the Halloween update would be fucking epic.
HO HO HO you are dead
WAT [img_thumb]http://pics.psythik.com/tf2waffles.jpg[/img_thumb] That was a regular bug? I thought it was one of my skins acting up. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
If you play on a map with custom particles, the next map you play will have that for all particles. Valve needs to patch it.
Free hats sent out to everyone on christmas morning. :buddy:
They could do this. They could give out hats on Christmas so now you are no longer Poor and Irish. Or trading. Which is like giving presents. Which is a custom on Christmas. Or that voice update shit, I need this to become Reality:
voice update shit
what is that
I'm hoping for a Voice Update where they add like 100 new lines to every class for all kinds of situations, banter between characters, new domination lines for everyone, more voice commands ("Sniper!"), link-up taunts (i.e. high-fives), and maybe Meet the Medic.
bam
I just want all the classes to have a reaction to having Jarate thrown upon them
I decided to bug with the find command and found this. test_giveawayitems yyyaaayy
It looks like that is something to do with trading. It is right under the discard item thing in the backpack.

So the giveawaytiems shit was in the game before we had items?
I think crafting would be useful if they allowed you to make certain hats for classes. For instance, you could use your 5 Jarates to make one Master Yellow belt hat for Sniper, etc. I like the voice idea too though. I want to hear what Heavy, Soldier, Scout, etc say when covered in pee. I've heard somewhere that Valve lost the voice actor for Medic, though.
I've heard somewhere that Valve lost the voice actor for Medic, though.
They LOST him!? Holy shit! Where did they have him last? We have to find him, immediately!
I heard he quit the team, but its not like finding a guy who does a bad German accent in the voice acting industry to replace him is hard. EDIT: I read this on 4chan so you can take it with a grain of salt, but the guy who did the voicework for Medic hasn't been with the TF2 team since the game launched...he never talks in any of the videos unless its already pre-recorded audio...like in Meet the Spy. He never got any new lines in his update, but this may have been a thing for the later updates. All I've heard is that the guy who did the voicework no longer works with them on TF2.
Well, we could always ask him on his YouTube channel...
Weak.

It probably wouldn't be worth their time to pay the money to get him back, either, because all of TF2's new content is free. :smith:
Come on Christmas update.
Im surprised that Valve is doing all the stuff they do for TF2 for free in the first place! I bet they get some money off of it in new customer sales, but that has got to be waning at this point...

That is, if they can ever find him when he's not busy being awesome else-where. :<
Well, the Medic's voiceactor seems to be rather busy, if you look at his IMDB page. Voiceacting and acting.

I really wouldn't. They've added a LOT of free work to this game, and it makes me feel kind of bad that all of it is being sold at such low prices (It was $2.49 during the Hallowe'en event!). Though of course, now that they've spoiled the community beyond return, suddenly adding premium DLC would send everyone into an uproar.

That is, if they can ever find him when he's not busy being awesome else-where. :<
He's a hell of an actor besides, if he could get the accent and tone of voice down he'd make a great Medic. He's also a good writer. I'm not sure how he is with characters that he didn't make, but if they set up the outlines of what they want and let him go to it, he could more than likely come up with great lines.
On the one hand, new Medic voice clips/Meet the Medic would be awesome- I always felt like he was one of the blander characters, and some new clips or a video to help flesh him out would go a long way to fix that. On the other hand, I'm not sure I want the Medic to be partly voiced by Travis Touchdown and partly not.

Bills Hat was DANGEROUSLY close to this.
I'm worried that they'll add hats that you can only get if you give them money. Bills Hat was DANGEROUSLY close to this.
No it wasn't. It was a FREE bonus incentive to buy something else. At a discount, even! If you pre-ordered Left 4 Dead 2, you got it for $45 instead of $50. So in essence, Bill's Hat was, if anything, a -$5 hat. And either way, what you said is exactly what I was thinking. Cosmetic items that cost money. Why not? There is nothing you lose from not having a hat - they are just cosmetic items that have absolutely no bearing on gameplay whatsoever, and Valve has asserted that as their position multiple times in the past, namely with the Cheater's Lament. I will probably NEVER obtain a Cheater's Lament, but so far it has had zero effect on my enjoyment of the game. And unlike Bill's Hat, it wouldn't be a limited time deal, so all the people whining about it would only have one excuse: "I'm too cheap to pay $1 for this hat GIVE IT TO ME FOR FREE VALVE" (and knowing Valve, single hats probably wouldn't even cost that much).
I wouldn't mind paying for a super-big update. [editline]11:58AM[/editline] They already gave us SO MUCH.
Also think about this: Valve is constantly working on a two-year-old game almost for free. If they switched to a paid DLC model, either for all updates or just premium items, then it would be extra motivation to continue work on the game. They can't keep working on TF2 for free forever, you know.
Honestly, I think I would prefer a donate link on the TF2 blog site. The people who want to pay Valve for making such an epic game free can, and there's MANY less people bitching about premium DLC.
