I made [url=http://www.gamebanana.com/skins/99725]a good Uber texture improvement mod[/url] a while ago and I still have my work files with a transparent layer that adds the glowy eyes to the Engineer and Pyro. Granted, it doesn't use a vmt-basetexture combination like it sounds like you want to use, but if you ever get these finalized I can help make the Uber textures. (You can't get glowy eyes on Engineer and Pyro with vmt effects anyway...not with the Uber effects that is.)

The bullet holes in the head look really out of place for someone that just exploded.

Every time I see this thread I think "Oh awesome, a highres texture pack!". But then I remember it's character stuff :( A (GOOD - I've seen that shit on FPSbanana) highres texture pack would be awesome I think. Something that really changes the whole style of the game as a refreshing change from all these promo items and reskins.

Check it's VMT, it could be helpful.

Bullet-holes however makes no sense.

Sort of off-topic, but I just realized that Hecates' picture is a bitmap (.BMP). I don't think I've seen one of those since the nineties. :v:

Ok, let's try something else here. I'm now proposing to remove all the goggle and maybe hardhat details (crack or bullet hole, not necessarily the blood) for decapitation reason, cuz cutting any off the character's head off wouldn't make glass break (not engie's goggles neither sniper's glasses) or break the hardhat (or soldier's helmet). Yes, I want to change the hardhat skin back to a plain non damaged one. BUT, before any crazy drama discussion starts, understand that all the details that I'm trying to put into this textures are merely visual, but it's also to make the games looks better, consistent AND funny. Look, I replace my giblets textures for something new and that I can recognize better all the time just to make things more into the TF2 style (and better on the screen shots), but not always show or release all off them to public for lazy reasons. This may be the first time that I'm asking for a public opinion on the development of them too. For example: The old and very first gib texture I made had the crappy blocky blood splashes that are in the game. (to horrible to show! not released and deleted) [url=http://www.gamebanana.com/skins/89549]The second one[/url] was the first release (not to mentioning the non bloody skins for the giblets), which used the amazing [url=http://www.gamebanana.com/sprites/106]Exaggerated Blood Decals[/url] by dDefinder, that also started to be my all game decals for blood and blood impacts. The third one was just going to be an updated version of the second one with new giblet's faces skin, using a more convincing, non BETA looking and accurate to the final model skin. Those was made, they are done. BUT, taking a look at the "Meet the Spy" and now the "Meet the Medic" videos (Meet the Soldier too if you notice the blood that comes from spy's mouth at the very end) made me think that that blood style they used on the shorts should also be in the game, NOT THE CRAPPY BLOCKY ONE! That's why I decided to make this new version. It has all the face details I wanted to update and a plus, new blood style! I'm also making new decals to goes with them (u can download a BETA [url=http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12892140/blood_decals_v0.1.rar]HERE[/url]). So, when you guys say "Change it, it's simple" I must say "No, It's NOT!". The limitation of the number of models used by Valve, making decapitation using the same giblets from the exploded body parts, makes EVERYTHING worst! You must admit that the original skin sucks and decapitated heads don't looks like something that just exploded! You can't also distinguish the BLU team giblet's from the RED team, and they have low quality even on high resolution! If they could at least add a third skin for the head giblets it would be a hell of a conquest! BUT, since we have to use the same from explosions I think the best would be making one that could work for both sides... And can mean the use of no unnecessary cracks or wounds. This should looks funny not realistic. right? So, what you think? No crack, no wounds, no bullet holes and just blood splashes on the neck and some minor splashes over the hats? I also find out amazing that some people want's to make new models for the gibs. I would really love seem them working with the funny face expressions on the heads along with those chicken bones popping out from the edge of some of the limbs. Just don't forget to make them giggles when hitting the floor...

Too bad the gibs can't be jiggleboned or ragdolled without it being impractical. It would be funny to see a head gib with the jaw open and the tongue sticking out.
Has anyone else noticed thet the blu pyro in the OP is holding a red flame-thrower.

Medic's backpack is a trivial thing that doesn't really need a fix anyway. Engineer's Gunslinger is the only thing that's actually broken. The Sniper glasses are already in the pack.

It just don't uses the same vmt format for the uber texture, but that's an easy thing to do now.
