Yep, the generals textures are done, just need new Soldier & Engineer normal's map. Making the site atm.
NassimO is being a bit promising, we're not that done. I'm currently working on both engie and sniper, and demo still needs work. Details Details Details Everything must look and feel right, then they're done. But yeah, we're working on it regularly and it's going to be done soon.
-Actually no snip cause its rather dumb- But are you guys stilll going to make Normal Mapped emblems? I think its rather nice
-Actually no snip cause its rather dumb- But are you guys stilll going to make Normal Mapped emblems? I think its rather nice
I only think that makes sense for medic tbh, for the others it looks more like it's printed on
I hope you guys fixed this already Why is that blue thing there anyways? What was Valve thinking
It's some subtle paint stroking, it's not an error. Cartoony metal is slightly blue a lot of the time.
I am very intrigued by this. Will download when it's finished.

Is the Pyro the only class to get some customized modeling fixes or...?
Is the Pyro the only class to get some customized modeling fixes or...?
Yes, cause i don't see any needed changes for the others class for the moment.
Not to mention that the Pyro doesn't have an actual face or anything complicated on its model, so it most likely won't break.

Every few weeks I check back into this thread, and remind myself how much I want this; right goddamn now. Really great work guys, I seriously can't wait for this to be good and ready.
It's nice to see all the work Nassimo did on those loading screen characters getting used for something
Nassimo should do the artwork for all TF2 updates, his work always looks so fantastic.

would anyone be interested in having slightly different shader parameters along with the pack? • reduced & broader phong • weaker rimlight • tighter lightwarp
would anyone be interested in having slightly different shader parameters along with the pack?
:downs:
here here dont smile good man your style is clean, neatly organised, high quality and, last but not least... you use the goddamn color palette
That lightwarps looks horrible on everything
I think it looks nice. :c
I think it looks nice. :c
Same.
looks like improved beta lighting, i'm sure a lot of beta lovers would want it
beta lighting is actually a bit broader, but with a sharper transition, and practically no rimlight/phong at all. so i guess this would sit halfway in.
That lightwarps looks horrible on everything
that's coming from a guy who uses the "cinematic lightwarp" (a.k.a. directx8 in directx9) but okay. i've been using it for everything i upload on youtube and i never stop getting comments like these :v: i shall challenge your assertion if you want to make your own opinion of it: http://source.maxofs2d.net/models/pyro_lightwarp.vtf
beta lighting is actually a bit broader, but with a sharper transition, and practically no rimlight/phong at all. so i guess this would sit halfway in.
Yeah I'm pretty sure the beta lighting looked the way it looked due to phong not being used/invented yet. If you for example remove the phong lines in the vmt of something it pretty much looks like in the beta, if not identical to. yours is too dark for my taste. it looks ok from like, straight forward but pretty much any other angle it's too dark it also has this kinda metallic feel to it that i'm not really a fan of there's just no beating the default lightwarp i think
Nice to see peoples opinion are still argued. Good old FP. "Oh no you are wrong. See other people have said otherwise, correct your opinion now."

max's lightwarp looks cool for machinimas such as his, but i wouldn't want to use it in-game
So much cinematic lightwarp hate.
You see the lightwarp + Normals dont look that bad [t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/47783601/itemtest0000.jpg[/t]
