The models use an updated player texture as base. Some are from the second release and other's are still using the first release skins as base.
When final release is ready, all the gibs should have it's own Normal map file, wich will bring a much more detailed head and folds, making the giblet looks more like the playermodels.
The only two models on the pictures that are not using a proper gib_Normal is the Heavy and Scout.
I'm current finishing Medic and making Pyro for last...
Next step will be finishing the Meet the Spy blood Splashes for environmetal and body blood wound spray.
These pictures was taken with insaneicides Zombie player models, that use the gibs as second model/skin. "Why I used it" you ask? Well, that can make u notice how much the gibs can looks like the final models and show a funny body pieces despite the dark rotten meat that the original skins have when a char explodes in game. And I was lazzy to take shots of each gib separately...

you fantastic son of a bitch, i want to rub them all over my body
I think those blood splatters look way too clean... not messy/chaotic enough
It kinda fits the art style though.

Hecates Gaspar, you magnificent bastard. Will they have eyes and other small details like your previous gibpack?
Hecates Gaspar, you magnificent bastard. Will they have eyes and other small details like your previous gibpack?
I don't know. Some people asked about the eyes been removed, cuz it was making them unconforteble. But it might be an extra detail option for download. Such as some details I have early put on engie, such as a goggle crack, and then changed back.
I'm taking sugestions if anyone got an idea of something that could and/or should be implemented or removed on the gibs skins. Just remember that i'm not changin the models, just the texture.
Err hi extremely advanced intellectuals. I was wondering if somebody could do a new texture for the TF2 Beta Soldier in his Blue Jacket and green helmet. I know it's been done before but I wanna see somebody put the actual soldier emblem on the shoulder patches and use the same texture as the stock blue soldier's pants and red soldier's green helmet. If somebody did they I would have a heart attack and die. Plz message back if you can.

If I recall correctly, the default gib sheets had some details, such as little rips on the Spy's mask, or the scratch on Sniper's cheek. Might just go off those for the small stuff.

I suggest you check out the TF2 Emporium, located back in the main section.
Nice gibs Hectates
And while we're all here, do we have new hud icons for these yet?
It kinda fits the art style though.
actually i think that's because they're too sharp
Isn't that the point of this texture pack?

I think the plan was to make one set of "meet the-" video type blood and one with more "messy/chaotic" blood, more in style with valves, and perhaps another one with squared blood splatters to match valves splatters.
It's hard to say what TF2 blood is supposed to look like cause valve makes it different everywhere...
The splatters are square, the gunshot wounds are blobby, the blood on the gibs are sprinkly and in the newer videos and blog renders it's cartoony splatters.

The weapons with blood on them seem to be a 50/50 shot between cartoonish, which I think fits much better, and trying to pass for realistic. Übersaw and Axtinguisher are both Valve made items and still lack a consistency.
Personally I'm torn on whether to have clean versions of the bloodied weapons (I think there are five-six in total counting user mades?) or have new blood decals plastered on them to maintain style to the game and the style to the weapon's original skin.
Also the Persian Persuader has terrible blood by all standards
Also the Persian Persuader has terrible blood by all standards
I debated mentioning that but felt that is was a thing everyone kinda knew already. User made weapons are on a different level, a wider pool of submissions available and thus more variations on the style set in the TF2 universe.
Granted the Übersaw and Axtinguisher are some of the earliest unlockable weapons in the game (actually the Übersaw is the first unlockable) but those blood styles vary immensely between their release.
Maybe there's no decided on style for dried blood? The Axtinguisher looks more weathered and well used. I know mine is. *choppity chop chop*
yeah i think the blood on both the Axtinguisher and the Eyelander/targe are supposed to be dried so that's pretty irrelevant to the gibs which are fresh
I have worked on a new clean set of weapon for those with the lazy blood spray that VALVe used to make. It was the Eyelander, Charging targe and the Skullcutter. Didn't finished the persian persuader or any other item with blood. I could get the weapons done and make a version with a more cartoonish consistent blood patern if it's what u guys wish...

my mind, they look so strange
i really prefer the targe like that though
I actually really like the clean weapons. Also:maybe a option for a not broken Targe N Charge?

I liked Valve's eyelander blood, that's why I used it on the Skullcutter

I understand, and I'm not saying that the texture sucks. Don't take me wrong. I just don't like to use a weapon that's covered in a blood that wasn't took by me. That's why I like how the Half Zatoichi textures works and I would love if every melee weapon could works like that.
Also, I would like that every thing on the game that uses blood splashes could have the same patern style. If someone that know how and want to make new blood particles, I would love to substitute the current ones to something that looks more cartoonish and "Meet the Team" like...
sorry if this has been asked before, but has anyone else been having performance dips with this installed?

I've been finding TF2 as a whole has been becoming unstable over the past few months, so I can't really tell. I've definitly been running a little slower as of late, though.

I've made a pack that does just that. I traced most of them directly from the videos, but drew some more up myself.

hmm... that's not particles, that blood spray. It's really good, but actully I already have that done.
for particles, I mean the blood that comes not over the world or on the body but the one that shows when u get hit, exploded and decapitated.

If you redid the particles for the TiP that'd be amazing! Especially since Bolty's Particles 1.Crash alot 2.Dont work on alot of servers and 3. Are hosted on megaupload which is taken down.

Ah I see what you mean. I made those decals because I feel the same way you do; I love the cartoon-y blood from the videos and dislike the semi-realistic blood in-game.
I'm really liking your work, you're doing exactly what I've been wanting.
