Any chance of us getting another pre-release any time soon?
something is bugging me about the gloves but i can't put my finger on it
if you're looking at his right had i'd say odd smoothing, or that they might be a tad too shiny for leather

I'd say it's the sheen, at this point they look like rubber gloves.
Max, I already see a ton of ways to add the new bodygroups without shitting on the design.
If I can, I'll fart out some sketches/paintovers and give em to you if you're interested.
that'd be very kind of you! the reworked model is more for movie use, but if some people can be happy with an in-game version that works, even with if it's held together with duct tape, that'd be awesome :>
(add me on steam!)
so much normal maps from me in one thread
that's the model retextured with something else than flat colours, which is the closest thing i could find that he was looking for. sorry if that offended your artistic sense.
(and yes)

All I wanted was a model so that the new shoes wouldn't clip with her legs...
Oh how I wish Valve could see all this and put it in game.
I'm working on this now. Dunno if interesting or not.

As you all can see, the bullet wound is still too dark to go on skin surfaces (as u can see on Hoovy's head, Medic's coat and Engie's hardhat).
I'll adding some transparency to it to just looks a darker version of the surface it goes on.
Also, using a new blood impact decal made it have a weird size matter. Most of those decals are a single shot and shows several splashes and wierd cutted off edges.
Dunno if it's really the image size, the blood size or a new vtf file problem. Think I might use a small decal or make a special vmt for it.
Blood splashes are still placeholder.
All this stuff looks great!
i think the scout should have world model normal maps for his hand wraps, and some dirt on their shoes and pants because its to clean. none the less this is wonderful.

i am planning on making the world normal on the wraps be a bit softer than just edges on the lines, and I actually think the dirt idea is kinda interesting, they already kinda have that already though as most of them fade to a dark gray brown towards the bottom.
Normals on a world model? Do you STARE your team into cleaning their hands?
not sure what you're implying, all of the world player models already have normalmaps
Is there a file with all of the community's help with this pack? You know, with all of the new textures combined?
-snip-
Edit: Wow thanks for the diverse range of rates, if you're wondering this post was originally made to try fix page 31 which was there but not loading for me - apparently there really was no page 31
As someone has already mentioned that the Hotrod had a terrible texture as well, I'd like to also point out that so does Ze Goggles. It'd be nice if both of those hats had a texture makeover. Some might say that the Hotrod would also need a completely new model, too.
the hotrod has smoothing errors and a stretchy uv so there's not much point in working on the texture without getting that fixed
ze goggles only has a small texture and some boring phong settings but beyond that it's actually very well made
Ze Goggles texture isn't that noticeable as the one on the Hotrod, it's a smaller item. But the Hotrod could be a Half-Life promo (yes, the first one).
Mostly irrelevant, but here's a Hotrod remake that looks similar but is of a fine quality.

That one's much nicer but it's a bit too detailed/realistically detailed for tf2 I'd say

There, all I did was change the phong settings and the lightwarp from weapon_ to pyro_

A ridiculous amount of hats and misc items use the weapon lightwarp I've noticed.
It looks better on some hats, it's a choice, not a glitch

I'm just going to say that it probably looks better with that, but I can't be 100% sure seeing that I'm too lazy to try and compare it to something else. Either way, one of the things that have most bothered me with the Ze Goggles, and why I mentioned it, is that big bolt looking thing on the side of the goggles. It just doesn't look right, and the low resolution texture is really noticeable there, along with on many of the cylinders which make the eyepieces. It's also sadly not paintable, as it'd look pretty good in Aged Moustache Gray, or perhaps with Lime, while also equipping the Emerald Jarate?
The Reggaelator used to have the same sort of problems that Ze Goggles and the Hotrod had/have, but since it got an update from the creator it's an awesome hat. Four great styles, all paintable, and a higher resolution texture all at once. It went from being a bad Demo hat to being one of the best.
But really, I guess I'm just spouting opinions here. Ze Goggles at least isn't a very large model, so the problems aren't as noticeable. Not to mention all the colors are grayed out, so it sort of just blends together with most of maps anyways, in the sense that it's not much of an obvious eyesore.

I haven't seen any hat which looks better with the weapon lightwarp tbh, it might look ok on the hat itself but when on a character it usually just makes it stand out in a weird way

You know, I just realized that the cigarettes in the Disguise Kit look a lot larger than the ones that the Spy actually smokes. Maybe it's just my fucked up perspective, but the one in the Spy's mouth is only about a third of the size of his hand (perhaps a finger length), whereas these seem to be much longer.
