...and i just make something for the tracks on the plr_ maps (that was an idea i had in my mind a long time); team paint on wood.

I like the idea of team painted wood but it looks too garish you need to do it a bit more subtle I think
Maybe colors of wood that can be associated with teams instead of actual team paint?
Red: Mahogany, Walnut, Cherry
Blue: Spruce, Birch, Maple

the tracks are already team coloured like that, light wood for blue and dark red wood for red. I think the paint splotches are too common, i'm not sure if they share UV space so idk if you can do anything about that

I'm making Raijin's idea. There is actually 5 differents boards on the UV.
Edit: Well, what do you guys think about it ?

too much contrast with the lighter colors, especially when they sequentially repeat, just seems unnatural
The idea is really really ingenious, but I don't think it can be pulled off in a way that doesn't make it stand out like crazy.
Try it without the lightest boards. They're the one's that are really noticable
Is there any way you could upload the envmapped pyro lenses seperately?

I guess I could, but do note that he will turn invisible in the loadout menu

The loadout menu: If it's glitched, it's working.
Would it be possible to extend the viewmodel arms back so you can't see through them if you use a larger viewmodel fov?

Murphy was once working on doing something like that if i remember right and he does help out with this project but it's pretty optimistic
How's our next estimate on a new pre-release? I hunger for HD.
How's our next estimate on a new pre-release? I hunger for HD.
Probably after we've found a good way for people to mix and match the optional stuff.
Might do smaller releases before that though, uncompressed textures for example
Have you guys considered doing a fix for the Scottish Resistance? It looks absolutely awful.

I've been asking for a fix so often.

Hey guys, I've been following this pretty much since it started.
One thing I have become curious about about was if you plan on
releasing the PSD files when this project is completely finished?
Naturally during the process, giving these out is probably not something you'd want to do.
But given that this entire project is in the spirit of TF2 modding, and that tons of users love
making custom skins (which I'm sure you've anticipated people using these as a base),
handing out the PSDs/source files at the end could really open things up to some really good projects.
Giving those that want to use these as a base (instead of the TF2 ones) much more flexibility.
Finally, I apologize if this has already been mentioned. I was reading up until page 11 to check, but then felt I'd just go ahead and ask, and get it out of the way.

I want us to eventually do just that, but nassimo wasn't entirely convinced when we discussed it some time ago.
We're currently looking into some way of watermarking things to avoid people taking credit for our work but
I think just making it well known that we made it should be enough
and at that point we'd just have to rely on people's honesty and on others spotting credit-thieves

I agree. I mean at the end of the day someone will always try to steal. The amount of skins that get reuploaded to places like the Steam Workshop is enough, and they don't even have the source files.
I think the project's popularity will speak for itself. The only methods of watermarking that I can think of would be very easy to remove, as you wouldn't want the PSD files to be unusable of course.
Anyway, I look forward to that possibility, as the PSD files are something I've been looking forward to playing around with. I was considering using them to remake a bunch of my old skins seeing as looking back, I can do a lot better these days.
I believe one was already remade by someone with this pack? The Spyro I believe?
A request?
Can you guys do something about Scout's hand wraps? They look too realistic and detailed for the style of TF2.
Perhaps make them more opaque and cartoon-y
Thanks!
