Feels a little too Fallout-y.

What part exactly?
The whole glowing idea. I think it's a really cool and inspired idea, but it feels like a bit too much. Maybe if it wasn't as luminescent I'd change my mind.

Can't you read?

Yeah, like I said, I'm figuring it out.
Exellent work, Chaofanatic.
Like Shugo says; This thread has just taken on a whole new level of sexy. Again.
Yeah, weren't the original Bonk particles simply repurposed Antlion Worker blood particles? Definitely should be part of the default pack.
Is this prop's wood ever going to get redone, by the way? The current wood is clearly something that came from a Photoshop filter and never got sorted out.
K, I'm releasing this as a test to see if my workaround for the item_fx.pcf issue actually works.

I'll see what i can do on this one.
Did you know the direct hit uses the player lightwarp? stupid I know, so I changed it to the weapon lightwarp.
also gave it a better phongmask
now the only problem is the odd smoothing
(main part shades as if it's barrel shaped rather than like the straight cylinder it is and the bottom green part of the scope is also weird)
The RJ have now his own skin. We'll add the one i made some times ago to the pack i guess.

Now that i'm back, here's how it looks, small is before big is after

personally I think the DH needs more than a new lightwarp to look beautiful, though that is helping a lot

Fixed smoothing would be one of those things.
I think the texture has a lot of potential, it's mostly lacking in contrast, maybe some more detail in a few spots. Colors could also be tweaked perhaps and i kinda want to try having the front handle be wooden

I really should get around finishing my tweaking of the DH model, which i started, oh, maybe 2 years ago? :p

Did a bit of work on that the other night

can u make a tc with cream spirit version for both jumpers?
can u make a tc with cream spirit version for both jumpers?
I think if someone enables two skins for the model we could.
Does improvement cover adding team-versions for weapons that are not currently team coloured?
Such as the razorback that is red on both teams. (though there is a mod available already, just saying though).
Unless this is already included?

I believe its been done for the sticky jumper, I'm not too sure about the rocket jumper though.

Why not? It's its own model just like the sticky jumper.
yay progress! haven't seen this thread for a while.
Alrighty... So...

I've added the red glow to the flames like NassimO asked and done a few of my own tweaks like adding subtle red/blue embers and fire plumes that assault the mind with subliminal messages saying "hey he's red/blue" and junk.
Also, I've been testing out a small trailing effect for the fire.

I don't think the trails should actually be included though. It's kind of obnoxious and overly flashy and was really just an experiment to see if an effect like that would actually work.

My worries are in the current fire overlay used on the textures. I never liked that, doesn't fits the fire particles very well.
About the trails I think it can work with different color or maybe looking a bit more rounded.

First off, the trails are just something I did for fun, I don't expect them to be included and just wanted to see if an effect like that would even work.
And B, I know that we need a new fire overlay but frankly I can't do anything about that. Get someone else to make a gorgeously animated, hand drawn fire overlay.

If you can, make the trails maybe only show up on the scout? Or when the demoman is charging. Altho i have a feeling you can't really do that.
Neat! I was thinking earlier about tinting the rim light slightly so it'd be easier to see what team someone is on in dark places.
turns out there sin't a tint command for rimlight so scratch that
As for the fire overlay, I've hard it's not possible to replace the actual burn texture but it maybe it's possible to change all the vmt's to use another one?
I don't think it's that horrible though, at least not when paired with the particles.

u sure your not able to change the vtf for the burn? you can definitely change the vmt code, but thats a pain in the ass
I don't know if this is ok or not though. For things like the player burning effect, I've had to edit particles_manifest.txt to get it to load the proper file (firefx.pcf) because the actual particle file is protected normally.

Beats my way of starting the game with the particles installed and then removing them before joining a server.
