Finally got the AO to do this:

I dulled the colors down a bit since it's a prop and shouldn't be too vibrant.
could add phong to the clothes?
could add phong to the clothes?
Nah, That'd make it stand out too much. Again, It's a prop and isn't supposed to be grabbing attention
Alrighty... So...

I've added the red glow to the flames like NassimO asked and done a few of my own tweaks like adding subtle red/blue embers and fire plumes that assault the mind with subliminal messages saying "hey he's red/blue" and junk.
Also, I've been testing out a small trailing effect for the fire.

I don't think the trails should actually be included though. It's kind of obnoxious and overly flashy and was really just an experiment to see if an effect like that would actually work.
If I ever get a better Graphics Card/CPU, I'm going to install all of your particle mods.
Theyre amazingly awesome.
We need a 3rd pre-release!

More lovely textures to make my computer run even worse than it currently does! :buddy:
[editline]beans[/editline]
Why the dumbs, I'm looking forward to this :gonk:
More lovely textures to make my computer run even worse than it currently does! :buddy:
i dont think reskins will give you bad fps....unless its a that reskin is a particle effects and whatnots
More lovely textures to make my computer run even worse than it currently does! :buddy:
Don't install it then.
Problem solved....
i dont think reskins will give you bad fps....unless its a that reskin is a particle effects and whatnots
and if the resolutions of the textures got doubled
and if the resolutions of the textures got doubled
Nope, we just make the textures at the same size but in better quality. The only size change is for some player textures that was in the beta size.

You should really upgrade.
Nobody plays on rocks anymore.

Hey that's not nice.
The toaster I bought for him to play TF2 ran just fine back in '07.
I think he might have actually used the damn thing to make toast. What an idiot.

I thought source was badly coded enough that any mods overriding original content will cause the game to run slightly worse than usual, seems to be the case for me anyway (my PC is strong enough atm that I use your mod but in the past removing mods has dramatically boosted my FPS).
Alright, so... I've been mulling over how to do the medibeam effect and realized that the fluidity and softness is part of what made the original stand out so well. So I basically took that and ran with it, making the beam itself look like a combination of smoke and some weird fluid.

Neither the muzzle effects or the uber effect is done yet, so give me time.
Anyway, what do you think? I originally had some distortions going underneath it before to add a stronger sense of fluidity, but I'd run into problems anytime the effect was half submerged in water or any other distortion effect.

Personally I can't see a difference, probably just me though.
I use this medic beam particle mod: http://gamebanana.com/tf2/sprites/3486 (not the expensive version, just the uber-modded one)
It's pretty good, maybe you could implement some ideas from it (namely the sparks when ubering)
What's with all the dumbs? I actually want this pack.. I've got the last pre-release installed :smith:

Because people didn't caught the joke and they thought you were insulting the pack.
Alright.

Alright, I did my best to blend the meet the medic beam and the in game effect together into one nice thing.
Edit:
Have a vidya of the gaem.

I'm making a release now because I like to have a place I can pick up from if I should somehow lose the effect.
Now I'm off to watch the emporium like a hawk so I can seize the island of pageking.
Me and NassimO were thinking of splitting the downloads up so it'll be easier for us to update and for you to Dowload the parts you want now that we've moved on beyond player textures.
Sound good?

Maybe use a source control system which would provide easier ways to update and give instant access to people who want to have the current updated version.
Wouldn't help with picking out things you want though.

Seems a little over the top

Poked at Natasha a little

Gave the belt some phong, a phongmask, rimlight and a lightwarp. None of which it had earlier.
Gonna have the minigun part use its own texture rather than the the standard with an overlay so that it can have AO shadows from the belt.
Might add some other details to further differentiate it from the standard minigun, not sure what though so if you got any ideas let me hear it.
Question, what does rimlighting actually do? I never caught on.
Looks nice, though
Question, what does rimlighting actually do? I never caught on.

I believe rimlighting makes the edges of a model shine, so you can distinguish the characters from the map. I may be wrong though as I have no experience with this kind of thing.
Alright, I just realized that a lot of things on the medibeam could have been done a lot better. I'll try to get a fixed version out tomorrow.
Same for my muzzle flashes, I just now realized that the actual spike effect plays in reverse.
For the optional mods (E.g. Shiny pyro eyes) you could do something along the lines of what painterly did: http://painterlypack.net/customizer.php
I understand that you probably wont have this many options.
I also have no idea about the scripting behind it.
Just showing you a way a different mod for a different game did something similar.

Umm, that what we planned. Did you read the topic ?

34 pages is a lot to read
34 pages is a lot to read

• Customize the pack to your own preferences with optional colors, detail, class emblems, compression/optimization etc. (Final release only)
From the first post. If someone don"t want to read 34 pages, he have to read the first one at least.
Alrighty...
http://www.mediafire.com/?bnvvgzq493g7ejv
I fixed up the medibeam effect and stuff. Also, I realized that the muzzle flashes look better the way they are now, so I won't bother fixing them.
blaholtzen asked me to redo my non-beta rocket ammo pack fix for the pack.... but I got carried away and made everything shiny:
