I could put together a mod that keeps the removed glasses but adds the high quality textures pretty simple to do, actually
I tried doing it but i couldn't figure it out i would fucking love you if you did that
yup but valve is convinced bodygroups are awful so any solution that could convince them to fix such a blatant problem is a good one
Bodygroups are only "bad" in their current form. If Valve had done to TF2 what they did with Dota 2 from the start, there would be absolutely no problems. I understand that would be a huge overhaul to TF2 and it's way too late in its life cycle to do that, but still.

Specking of sniper's glasses has any one done this before?
Ehh... I never liked the idea of teamcolored eyewear. Something like that was proposed for Medic a while ago and it didn't quite look right either. It's a tad distracting I think.
everything needs team colors
Teamcolored Pyro mask
everything needs team colors
EVERYTHING!
blue axe
EVERYTHING!
WHAT?
blue axe
to be fair as more and more teamcoloured stuff gets added the argument against a teamcoloured axe really crumbles
to be fair as more and more teamcoloured stuff gets added the argument against a teamcoloured axe really crumbles
paintable axe
paintable axe
Paintable rocket launcher... Wait. [t]http://knight.gamebanana.com/img/ss/skins/_11840-.jpg[/t]
to be fair as more and more teamcoloured stuff gets added the argument against a teamcoloured axe really crumbles
I can't think of any other cases where the team coloring is illogical besides the brigade helm and blueprints, oh and the pathetic attempt to team color the 3d glasses the Archimedes team coloring was also pretty dumb I guess
everything needs team colors
Team-colored rockets would be nice, but it's probably not possible for someone who isn't a member of the TF2 team, and said members of the TF2 team won't bother with it at all. Of course, if it was somehow possible for a non-employee, I think just a slight tint to the rockets (respectively colored to the teams), or just two glowing rings like how the grenades have 'em, would do.
TF2 needs more team-colored paints, like a paint based on the Soldier/Sniper/Heavy pants. Also, if Valve makes paintable weapons, they should be restricted to team-colored paints. Talking about team-colors. It bothers me how most Red colors look actually more brown-ish.
everything needs team colors
Paintable explosions.
paintable classes [t]http://files.gamebanana.com/img/ss/skins/5065650417c20.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/7R3u7.png[/t]
Paintable explosions.
well they did that for this halloween i guess haha
Good news i successfully made the snipers sunglasses invisible [img_thumb]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/578977332371741290/793F861F7BA63341CFF1D815982B78CDFF170903/[/img_thumb] Bad news is the texture gets screwed up when you are farther away from the sniper model anyone know how i can fix that?
is that you farther away from the model? it looks screwed up already also, I'll have a look at it when I'm on my better computer
Looks like the mipmaps are corrupted somehow
I fixed it actually just toggled no mipmaps on in the vtf's [img_thumb]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/578977332371895800/19B661A1E8CB631DC5548C8834E3C3D5F95789D8/[/img_thumb]
The point to my post was not about the team coloring of the glasses, but the fact that no one has edited the snipers glasses (other then to get rid of them) before.
there are medic-styled sniper glasses, not sure if those count though, as there's not much of a color change
well they did that for this halloween i guess haha
Wait, what? When? Did I miss that? I know they had that pumpkin bomb thing, but there was paint?
Wait, what? When? Did I miss that?
because they'd have to recreate every animation with the glasses moved and code it so items can change animation sets
Well, would they have to recreate every animation? Or couldn't they just make it a sort of gesture like animation, which overlays over the other animations playing. Though, you're right, they would have to code in so cosmetics could force animations.
one problem last time I checked, the sniper's glasses aren't rigged in stock tf2, so they'd have to rig the glasses like the sfm sniper
Ah, didn't know that. Sorry then.
