• Is TF2 market crashing?

It's mainly the metal market that is crashing due to idlers and spreadsheets like backpack.tf Unusual trading is also going to shit thanks to backpack.tf You just can't set a static price on unusuals, it is between the buyer and the seller to determine the price not some spreadsheet run by some shit admins. More and more people are starting to use backpack.tf and it's really bugging me. People use it to the point of "ur unusual is 1.2 bud and my unusual is 1.3 so u have 2 add 3 key" And I wish the outpost admins would let me say fuck you. Key trading is fine, so if you somehow got an account full of keys sit back and watch the show.
scrap.tf takes craft hats for 1.22 now welcome to the next part of the end
People sold craft hats for 1.22 all the time before scrap.tf, I don't see why everyone is worked up. And whoever said Ace duped an unusual is a complete moron who has no idea what is going on. Perhaps go into politics?

Like you said yourself, prices of unusuals are between the seller and buyer. Idiots read it as god's truth and then you get the "ma unusual is m0re expnsive" stupidity. If it's another Ace, then my point is mute.
I never duped a TC, that is possibly the dumbest thing I read all week.
Funny
Funny
Ratings exist, y'know Funny is a rating
Ratings exist, y'know Funny is a rating
I find this to be informative.
I'm starting to feel it is now; I'm used to prices changing daily, it just makes me feel uneasy when every possible item gets suggested for a price drop on backpack, and they get approved for a scrap/key's worth of price drop. :tinfoil: That, and bandwagon seems to be getting worse. For example, one person lists a genuine for a price change, then another one gets suggested, then soon there's 9 price drop suggestions.
Yeah, the economy is going to hell, and quickly too
It's like they're trying to sum up their site in one picture [sp]Refined falls, keys rise, buds fall, by the hands of rich traders[/sp]
oh god remember when keys were 2.33 like right around the meet the pyro update
oh god remember when keys were 2.33 like right around the meet the pyro update
Yep, when I started getting into trading, they were like 2.55 and I thought that was too much. But now...well I shouldn't have complained.
Soon, 1 key can buy a house. Wait.
If valve introduced a new item along the lines of buds/bills/max status, what would happen to the economy?
"This guy is selling for more, might as well try to do that too!" Pretty much the only reason why this is happening.
If valve introduced a new item along the lines of buds/bills/max status, what would happen to the economy?
The buds/bills/max situations were very special and awkward They were popular enough items to be reasons to get something done and they were nice enough looking items to be desired by those who came late to the party Ignoring the richness factors, earbuds are things almost everyone with an mp3 player has, who wouldn't want their virtual self to have them Max's head was perfect to show someone's love for the Sam & Max games, but many TF2 players didn't know about the offer. Bill's hat was only available for like 2 weeks. They tried to do similar items to these rarities, but nobody likes plush penguins apparently.
I checked the prices on my backpack.tf account like five months ago. Remember the site exists, login, check the prices of stuff in my backpack out of curiosity HOW
Thanks to backpack.tf now Bill's are 7 keys , Craft hats , genuine crossed the line 1.33 ( Usually anything less than 1.33 are quick selling ) , Buds keep falling , Keys are almost 6 Ref each , and almost all promos and vintage dropped hard. Back when spreadsheets day ( which people said that he manipulated the price ) they never crashed this hard.
Really if you don't trade in unusuals, the TF2 economy doesn't matter at all to you. Pretty much all craft hats and most miscs go for 1.3 refined (as they have since they equalized at the beginning of the whole trading spiel) and weapons are barely even a scrap so you can get basically whatever you want at a consistent price unless you start trading for keys.
If valve introduced a new item along the lines of buds/bills/max status, what would happen to the economy?
Well, many are trying to shove the Tux in as a mid point between Buds and Bills. Thankfully it's not Tradeable (giftable I think) but not many people have traded for them.

if you think about it, the TF2 market crashing only effects unusual traders. With everything dropping, it makes it easier for the common user to get crafthats/genuines/vintages and so on.
It just makes me nervous to buy anything out of the ordinary, like flip flops or the summer hat is what I don't like about it.
Yeah i hate it how when something it was like 2 keys and in about 6 hours ( not even a day ) it dropped to 1 key :/ [editline]13th August 2013[/editline]
oh god remember when keys were 2.33 like right around the meet the pyro update
Those were spreadsheets day where nobody use backpack.tf yet ( or i'm not sure they are even around at that time yet )
Although the key prices rising means that the price of key worth items is rising too. [sp]thus crushing my dreams of getting the buck turner all stars ;_;[/sp]
If valve introduced a new item along the lines of buds/bills/max status, what would happen to the economy?
It keeps crashing?
