Maybe there will be a competition to see which gets updated, such as suggested above most destructions. Valve could take the total destructions from the community and then use that to decide.

It seems to me that Valve has gotten REALLY lazy. I remember quiet a while ago there were a couple FPers that predicted a Solly/Demo update. If you ask me, Valve is smart enough to decide to just tease us with their updates, and we will just start coming up with material on our own.

But that's what the announcer is afraid of. That's why it would make more sense to make them fight to see who gets the new weapons. And that's why I am worried this "update" is really just a competition to see who gets weapons next.
I'd like an explanation of why there are clones of the mercenaries walking around at one time, and why they never actually "die".

But tomorrow's Thursday. They can't possibly update everything in time for a free weekend without leaving a major time gap in between. They'll most likely have a free weekend since they've done one for every class update.

EDIT: Oh wait I forgot t take the weekend into consideration. Maybe this update will be revealed in five pages, or maybe I'm wrong.
Here's what I think. There's going to be a week of special events, and the class (Soldier or Demoman) who gets the most kills/wins/whatever will be the next to receive the update.

Yeah, exactly, they usually take 7 days. The announcer comic takes place 7 days(1 week) ago, and the blog post says the friendship will end tomorrow. Within the story, the friendship ends when they get the new weapons.

While that may be true it was just a week in the comic, I meant that Valve would do the usual "spend the week showing off new stuff" thing.
