http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Non-player_characters#Zepheniah_Mann_and_Company
Why the fuck is there so much background that fits in TF2?
Why the fuck is there so much background that fits in TF2?
Valve loves their fanbase.
Scout-Currently Unknown Soldier-Currently Unknown (The name Jane Doe is a name given to someone because of a legal reason, or their identity is unknown) Pyro-Currently Unknown Demoman-Tavish Degroot Heavy-Currently Uknown (Though Strong Bad calls him Ivan, which is a stereotypical name) Engineer-Dell Conagher (A reference to the Dell computers) Medic-Currently Unknown Sniper-Currently Unknown Spy-Currently Unknown
Tycho also calls him Ivan. COINCIDENCE!? I think not.
Please tell me this is a joke/satire and you actually get that those're LotR references.
Bilbo Baggins is obviously from LotR but I honestly don't know if so are other ones. It still can be referring to Sniper's real name.
Tycho also calls him Ivan. COINCIDENCE!? I think not.
It was Strong Bad
Now take a look at Soldier domination lines for Sniper: If it's a reference to Sniper's name, we can assume his last name starts with 'B' and ends with 's'. It'd also confirm his name being Bruce, cause nothing seems to fit more
Bruce Jenkins
Bilbo Baggins is obviously from LotR but I honestly don't know if so are other ones. It still can be referring to Sniper's real name.
The other ones are the soldier getting the name wrong. Does he look like the thinking, book reading type to you?
The other ones are the soldier getting the name wrong. Does he look like the thinking, book reading type to you?
Why would he call sniper Bilbo Baggins?
The other ones are the soldier getting the name wrong. Does he look like the thinking, book reading type to you?
What if he's getting Sniper's actual name wrong, "Bilbo Baggins" being one of these mistakes? Also: Bruce Jenkins, heck yes
This thread again. Heavy always striked me as a Borris. Scout seems like a Danny.
Why would he call sniper Bilbo Baggins?
LotR was filmed in New Zealand. New Zealand is close to Australia. Therefore, Sniper is Bilbo Baggins.
Jacques Chirac :france:
His name is obviously Thierry or Didier
Soldier-Currently Unknown (The name Jane Doe is a name given to someone because of a legal reason, or their identity is unknown)
I think that is supposed to be a pun by valve. His name mostly likely is Jane Doe. And also I believe Jane Doe is a name put on a unknown soldiers grave or something. More than a legal reason most times
Scout: Jack Boyd
Sniper looks like a Steve to me
Scout seems like a Danny.
Pyro - Vuorinen Äärilä Hence his Finnish accent.
Pyro - Vuorinen Äärilä Hence his Finnish accent.
What.
I always figured (i.e. my headcanon) Soldier's mother just really wanted a girl but could never have one, so she named her son a girl's name. The fact that his name is also used as a placeholder for nameless people, I figured, was just meant to be a humorous coincidence. Besides, if he was given that name simply because no one knew what his real name was, why wouldn't it have been John Doe? Unless he named himself that, and given his mental state it wouldn't surprise me if he mixed up "John" and "Jane".
I always figured that since he's quite obviously a paranoid nutcase, he wanted to remain somewhat anonymous. So he always goes by Jane Doe. However, Mr. Doe not exactly being the sharpest knife in the drawer, didn't realize that since he's male, he should be John Doe.
Maybe he's trying to throw off the scent of would be pursuers by using the female version of the name.
Soldier - Dave [editline]28th November 2010[/editline] Dave Davis
Soldier - Dave
:rolleye: Isn't Jane Doe used in the police and military for Anonymous or Unknown?
I always figured that since he's quite obviously a paranoid nutcase, he wanted to remain somewhat anonymous. So he always goes by Jane Doe. However, Mr. Doe not exactly being the sharpest knife in the drawer, didn't realize that since he's male, he should be John Doe.
It wouldn't surprise me if that were the case. He's crazy enough to come up with a safety measure like that only to screw it up by picking the incorrect forename. Though why he would still use the female variant without questioning it is beyond me.
:rolleye: Isn't Jane Doe used in the police and military for Anonymous or Unknown?
Yes. For women. John Doe is the male equivalent. And people should take the "Ivan = Heavy" thing with a grain of salt. Ivan is a generic name, and there are a ton of famous Ivans Strong Bad could've been referencing with that joke. If the Heavy's real name could be Ivan because Strong Bad said so, then why rule out "Comrade Smartinsky...lov"?
Jean Finch for the scout
Ivan is a word for that bad russian guy over there isnt it? Like Charlie in vietnam.
What.
Finnish wear gas masks a lot.
Medic - Heinrik Hendrik [editline]28th November 2010[/editline] Scout - Annoying tool
Ivan is a word for that bad russian guy over there isnt it? Like Charlie in vietnam.
Ivan is just a generic russian name. Like John, or Chang. Or Jose.
Ivan is a word for that bad russian guy over there isnt it? Like Charlie in vietnam.
Pretty much, that's basically just the generic term for Russians/Russia
