if they are cheaper
that's ridiculously unintuitive and it isn't explained anywhere, plus how am I supposed to get a unique fire axe anyway? This has to be a mistake in the input somehow, because how would they expect anyone to just know that it has to be unique?
When you use a kit that requires a stock weapon, click the kit and hit the apply button. it will show the stock weapons and you can then apply it to whatever weapon the kit uses.
What does the Manndarin sheen effect look like? Some kind of orange glow or what? Yellow?

Orange.
Deadly daffodil is yellow
It's barely visible but here's a Manndarin pissgun. Watch the scope.

Its obviously an oversized lemon.
Orange.
Thank you, I really needed to know this.
So, am I correct in saying the more kills (or higher the "killstreak") the faster the weapon pulses?
Someone really needs to write a guide/FAQ on all this.
Can someone explain to me what the difference between the different Killstreak kits are? And what a killstreak fabricator is? The wiki doesn't explain it well enough for me to understand.

Normal Killstreak Kits only add killstreak tracking to the item. Specialized kits add killstreaks and a colored sheen. Professional kits add killstreaks, sheen, and eye particles.
Fabricators are chemistry sets that make Specialized and Professional kits. (Normal kits aren't made with fabricators, they're rewards for completing tours.)
To complete the Fabricator's recipe and make the kit, you need a bunch of robot parts that you get from beating Mann Up missions, as well as a weapon with the previous tier of killstreak kit applied to it.

Deadly Daffodil looks pretty badass. Its almost like a gold shine. I kinda want to get that for the Rainblower and pretend I have a golden one.
I still wanna see the sheens to every kit. I still haven't seen the eye effects in game either.

take a look at the discussion page. i gave all the info needed to make a proper page, uploaded all of the backpack images for the killstreak stuff, etc
if anyone does wiki things please refer to it. http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Talk:Killstreak_kit
Completed my first tour of the new MvM maps and got some killstreak things.
Mainly a Daffodil Professional Shortstop kit (God, that's going to take ages to complete) and a nicely themed Specialised Hot Rod Phlog (which I probably will never use seeing as how I resent the Phlog).

That's looks very nice. I wish that valve had implemented unusuals in this fashion, discrete yet cool, but this professional killstreaks and some unusuals and paints combinations make the game sometimes look like a joke, I would like to have Halloween-vision for Halloween cosmetics, Horror vision for some of the heavy junk from this year event, Smass vision (a big elfin deal ?), things like why candy cane does not have a cool re-skin but we have 893239 for the bat, a men can dream right ?

I think that was us XD

That was the best explanation ever. Thank you very much!
I finally upgraded my Strange Rainblower with a Professional Rainblower kit I acquired for $10. Spent around $15-ish on all the components I needed, including the specialized kits for some cheapo killstreak pocket pistols.
Professional kits require so many damn items...I probably used 200+ of those tour items altogether. But I finally have a weapon that I think looks very cool.
So basically mine is tornado eyes + agonizing emerald. The tornado eyes I think change color depending on the sheen of the item. I've seen red tornado eyes before, so I guess mine is green. I think it looks great, especially with a skull mask. Almost like a haunted Pyro, heh.

Here's some gifs of it in action. Also the eye effects get more extreme based on the amount of kills you have.
5 kills:

10 kills:

Neat, I'm working up for Villainous Violet Beggar's Bazooka.
It should look something like this when it's done:

You made the Battle Bob look good. Congratulations!
That's not my screenshot.
Just to show the sheen.
/but yes, his loadout is awesome
Why did I have to have a bushwacka and a caber kit drop. How am I going to get a killstreak of atleast 5 with a caber? Someone at Valve hates me

DeGroot keep, grab a shield and charge the point. I've killed 5 in one blast before.
Okay, this has got to be one hell of a bug with these damn fabricators and I hope I'm not alone on this.

I have the kit, a Specialized Machina fabricator.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=198264351
I have a unique Machina, craftable, tradeable, nothing else on it.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=198264362
I have EVERYTHING required to make the kit!
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=198264371
At least... I think I have everything...?
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=198264378
That is grade A bullshit.
I've got everything needed to make this, why does the game not recognize this? Has anybody else been able to use these things without this problem?
Don't you need an item that's already of killstreak quality? That's what I'm getting from this.
It seems like an upgrade system, put in any normal killstreak item to make a different, specialized killstreak item.
A Specialized fabricator is not weapon modifier, is an UPGRADE tool for a kill streak weapon.
A killstreak kit upgrades a weapon to killstreak quality. A Specialized Killstreak Kit upgrades that kill streak weapon to be a Specialized Killstreak Weapon. A Professional Killstreak Kit then upgrades that Specialized Killstreak Weapon into a Professional Killstreak weapon.

Drag the stuff over into the fabricator on the inspection screen dingus.

Okay, that makes sense now, the game wasn't very clear to me on what was needed however. Could of just said "Killstreak Machina".

You're assuming that I was adding to the weapon instead of having it consumed. I'm currently guessing that a killstreak weapon is consumed and lost in order to make another killstreak kit.
So if you have a professional fabricator, can you put in your Specialized Killstreak weapon in the crafting formula and get an output of just that weapon in professional form? Or will it consume the weapon and just give you a Pro killstreak kit?
This update convinced my to finish my current tour. After three levels of dealing with borderline mentally challenged people I walked out with getting a craft hat and a gold botkiller scattergun. Neat.
Sheen doesn't work on some weapons apparently.
Think they'll fix it?
