Craft them with what?
Interestingly, what if Robokeys cost less than 5ref to make? And the understanding is that Robocrates contain only new hats, which it would be logical to assume would be craftable. So if they're craftable, then the price of other craft hats would go down, and then key prices would go down...
My wandering mind. Correct my flawed incomplete logic please.

Flexed items do not work with hwm versions of the player models and that's what spawns this issue.

I'm playing vanilla TF2 so I can't see how this would be my fault

Might it have something to do with something else? Mods? Graphical settings? Other tweaks? Serverside enforcements? User error?
As a reminder, reinstalling your game doesn't make it "vanilla". Your settings and some console-made changes still stick around unless you disable cloud sync.
After psyke left some words of encouragement on my profile I decided to fiddle with hwm models (which I had disabled, although I've been getting the clipping issues since I got the mask). After flipping between the two and generally looking through my settings I couldn't see any real change. Neither having hwm models enabled, or disabled did anything to aliviate the clipping problem.
While I have no real reason to doubt the experience or knowledge of those with a more comprehensive view of the inner workings of the game, perhaps this is just some sort of bizarre hardware problem causing this issue?
Oh dear, looks like ned's offline. Unless he wakes up in time to get V23 going, someone else is probably going to need to step in for him.

Does multicore rendering have something to do with it? It's been the source of a lot of headaches in the past.
Aside from that, try fiddling with the fidelity settings and see if anything happens. Worst case scenario it's another "works on some GPUs, not on others" deal, which Valve can fix.

I doubt valve's going to deviate much from normal routine.
here it works with :
mp_usehwmmodels 0
mp_usehwmvcds 1
any diferent combination it doesnt work, multi-core is on.
also i got this on my autoexec:
r_lod 0
r_rootlod 0
Sometimes my Dapper Disguise works, sometimes it doesn't.
It mostly doesn't, and it seems pointless to blame a certain thing when that certain thing breaks the mask regardless.

Imagine if Valve tried to explain all these hats canonically. :suicide:
just a little tidbit i got from cuntsman
he said we could update our robo hats "later on".
i wonder what that means? i think the highest quality hats were uploaded to the workshop privately, but when the update does hit, everyone else can upload theirs too.
