Everyone on facepunch should get that medal :buddy: Or maybe just people that have been posting in the tf2 forum.
All right people - I just downloaded XSI Mod tool and GCFscape. Any other things I should get before I start modeling?
you could take a lookie here in this therad for some training... http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=773648
Everyone on facepunch should get that medal :buddy: Or maybe just people that have been posting in the tf2 forum.
My idea was: Golden medal: Emporium fathers Team coloured medal: Decent Emporium contributors :saddowns:
problem with this idea is who would deem who where decent contributors as i heard valve don't look at facepunch. although i only remember reading that on here so it could be BS
My idea was: Golden medal: Emporium fathers Team coloured medal: Decent Emporium contributors :saddowns:
FOR SOME REASON I AM ENTICED BY THlS IDEA
So, what's the Facepunch badge going to replace? The normal join-date medal, or the Polycount medal? Because it'd work pretty well as a join-date medal too.

http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=773648
This seems to be really 3DS Max-oriented. (but still useful) Just asking all modelers: Are there any more plugins or files I need to download to make Softimage XSI TF2-compatible?
problem with this idea is who would deem who where decent contributors as i heard valve don't look at facepunch. although i only remember reading that on here so it could be BS
it's true last i checked. the VALVe guys only read the steam forums. and even then so, it's usually not robin directly reading them too much, tho some guys like green marine check around more frequently. oh well :sigh:
By decent mod I mean a good looking mod, not a crappy ms paint reskin. That's not that hard to notice :saddowns:
How did VALVe learn about the fancy vs Nasty update then? Did someone on the steam forums post a link to it?
So, what's the Facepunch badge going to replace? The normal join-date medal, or the Polycount medal? Because it'd work pretty well as a join-date medal too.
would make sense too, as anyone with the gold or purple badge would have a pretty good chance of being gold member.

http://www.noesisinteractive.com/xnabot/ is a good tutorial for most xsi stuff, but ignore the xna implementation stuff at the end.

I use 6 and there's a plugin you need called ValveSource. ninjas because FP was loading slow :(
It would be fun if royzo would contact valve and discuss of a possible contest ;) The Facepunch pack! (but I'd prefer it called the Emporium pack). It could work. maybe... *sniff* maybe.
Did someone on the steam forums post a link to it?
Yes.
In the second part of Heavy's hats from 1980's movies requests (speaking of that, how goes the Rambo hat?), I bring you The Ventura. Yes, it's basically Sniper's hat with a moustache, but it's a manly moustache. And we all know Valve loves Predator.
A combination of the sniper's hat and an old moustache I made for the heavy. I think the hat suits him
I asked for that hat a few emporiums back :buddy: anyways, my idea on the name for the golden medals, IF THEY EVEN GET IN. "Neodement's Fancypunch" etc.
A combination of the sniper's hat and an old moustache I made for the heavy. I think the hat suits him
Looks very saxton-y.
You mean the XSI Mod Tool? I use 6 and there's a plugin you need called ValveSource.
I got the plugin, thanks! I just realized I downloaded v4.2; is that bad?
Looks very saxton-y.
Saxton, how could you let yourself go like that? Oh? Oh... It's a fat suit. Fair enough, make yourself look like a fat dude, then suddenly, KAPOW! Flawless murder!
A combination of the sniper's hat and an old moustache I made for the heavy.
I got the plugin, thanks! I just realized I downloaded v4.2; is that bad?
If you downloaded Mod Tool 4.2... Yeah you're gonna want to get Version 6 from the Valve Developer Community page If you downloaded ValveSource 4.2, i've never heard of that.
@Svdl, Jesse Fattura? oh god, I FUCKING LOVE YOU, FINISH IT :buddy:
A dispenser replacement: the Grease Monkey, aka the Gearhead's Grill. A classic sixties grill with an automated cooking system designed by engy, built by engy, and you best hope, feeding you. It periodically dispenses power-ups on plates similar to dropped sandviches. There are four types of power-ups that it can drop: Hot Dogs: 10 seconds of mini-crits Cheeseburgers: 10 seconds of 30% damage resistance Grilled Cheese Sandwiches: 10 seconds of health regeneration (faster than a medic's) Ribs: Guarantees that your next shot will be a critical hit. That is, it gives you ONE CRIT. Most effective with single-shot weapons, obviously. These are still helpful to the team, just in different ways. If anyone wants to try modeling them, be my guest.
Well, it sounds interesting as a base idea, and hell, it might even work! But there'd need to be a method to the whole functionality, and I think i've a few different ways this could work, pardner. Method #1: The Grill pops out a random Snack every X number of seconds (Level 1: 20 seconds, Level 2: 12 seconds, Level 3: 6 seconds), but requires restocking every X number of Snacks dispensed by hitting the Grill with a Wrench. (Level 1: 10 Snacks before restock, Level 2: 15 Snacks before restock, Level 3: 20 Snacks before restock) Also, the previous Snack needs to be taken before the next Snack can regenerate. (Like how the Teleporter works, only with tasty powerups) Method #2: When a friendly player hits the Grill, it pops out a random Snack, yet requires restocking every X number of snacks dispensed. Both methods are more or less the same, except one method is automated and the other is manually-operated. So, do you like the extra functionality tips I put in?
All right people - I just downloaded XSI Mod tool and GCFscape. Any other things I should get before I start modeling?
XSI is a horrible modeling program.
If you downloaded Mod Tool 4.2... Yeah you're gonna want to get Version 6 from the Valve Developer Community page.
Okay, thanks! [editline]12:44PM[/editline]
XSI is a horrible modeling program.
But it's free and Valve-supported.

I imagined about 3 power ups max lying around the bottom of the grill, if no one picks up any of them when the next one is ready one gets replaced. I didn't want to put any concrete numbers down as that's really up to valve playtesting, but that's exactly the type of thing i imagined.
FOR SOME REASON I AM ENTICED BY THlS IDEA
He should make a sparkly, platinum one for founding fathers who have selfmade items. :respek:
