Its not like hes gonna win anyway, the luckycharm sentry is clearly superior in every way, plus the creator actually listens when people tell him something.
The thing is I'd actually prefer his to Lucy if he made those changes.
Is it just me, or does the lighting on the handle of that saw look off? As if the model is a bit too rounded.
Anymore requests would be grateful I'm looking for soldier hats now mainly.
Eagle perched on shoulder.
Drax, how is your Carpenter's hat coming along?
That was done long ago, I'll release it on here in a minute if you want:
Anyhow I decided not to remove the serpent as that kinda remove the egyptian sorta concept to it, instead I changed the alpha so there's no phong on the serpent, and also added a red rim around the edges so that it doesn't blend in with the gold frame of the helmet:

I'll get to work on that tank helmet. Djokson.

That'd be awesome.
I posted LucyCharm on the "stunning polycount entries" thread.
Seriously, if it wins for the engineer, it'll be great, but valve will need to sort out the advantages/disadvantages of it...
What does everyone think the stats would be?

I think it has been done already, but u can give it a shot!
Made some final adjustments to the serpent on the front, the red outline makes it more noticeable from far away now. I think this is it done, I'll release it in a coulple of seconds.

May I make a suggestion?

I believe the red paint should have a bit less paint marks and the serpents belly pattern should run down the rest of the body.
Your thoughts?

Golden or Silver? I can't decide

Excellent Soldier hat! I'll have to give it a download.
Also you have a nice Scout hat in your avatar, did you make anymore Scout hats?

It's a good suggestion, but if the red ran down the rest of the body it would look odd because the base color of the helmet is red. So it would blend, and conflict with that color and from afar it would look bad.
Also about the paint strokes being less on the base, I might do that slightly, but I based this around the textures used on the Tyrant's helm and it uses about the same amount of paint strokes.

Boiled goose.
Working on animating the texture now.
I don't have the fonts used for the .psd template on the front page where can I get those. I have TF2 Build but not the other font for the smaller text.

Could we see a shot from the back to see what the whole texture looks like?
Thanks for considering my suggestion.
This is a great hat by the way. I bet this will be in the next community update.
Keep up the good work.

They are all in: C:\Program Files (or Program Files (x86))\Steam\steamapps\*username*\team fortress 2\tf\resource
Wow, that pharaoh hat looks awesome, also, could you do a tank helmet? Like this one

Thanks Omolong.
So i got 3DS max today and i heard you need like 50 different files to import/export SMD models or whatever those are called into the program. Meh.
So i got 3DS max today and i heard you need like 50 different files to import/export SMD models or whatever those are called into the program. Meh.
It's really not all that much, considering you just dump them into the directory and go.
Wow is it time for FPSB's daily downtime already?
What who the hell told you that.
You need like 3 programmes though, but there's a reason for this. The Valve Models in the game are compiled .smd files, they're .mdl files.
You need GCFScape to open up the GCF Files, the .gcf files are the files which hold all of TF2's Models and Textures, you need to open them in order to extract the compiled .mdl files.
You need MDLDecompiler to decompile the .mdl back into a .smd
Lastly you need the Importer/Exporter for 3DS Max which allows you to import/export .smd files into 3ds Max.
It sounds like a hassle but I recommend getting everything you need decompiled in bulk, for instance I extracted all the Valve hat .mdl files and decompiled them into .smd's and kept those somewhere to use as I'm working on hats reguarly. So If I ever need to look at one of Valve's hats for a reference it's just as simple as importing that hat into 3DS Max.
Also you don't need to decompile the player models, Valve kindly done that they can be found in:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\(your username)\sourcesdk_content\tf\modelsrc\player

looks really nice, are you going to position any more lights on the lens?
That's coming along nicely EDDY_IT, only problem is you don't want to hinder yourself to much with small details because in-game they won't get noticed easily so try and enlarge it perhaps.
Anyhow does anyone have any ideas for what I should name my hat.
