I agree, I'm just simply saying I dislike both classes, and if there were ever a thought of putting in a new class and replacing one, the Soldier or Demo would definitely have to go.
OP must have got dominated by a soldier and a demo. Now he's mad
No, they're both quite easy to avoid.
I find it funny how everybody who posts here hates this thread, but it is at two pages, and probably still growing.
The old 'skill' debate. I mean firstly, if you don't like them that's fine. To explain that with the reason 'they're both rubbish' is ridiculous.
I still can't see how pressing a few buttons is skill.
perhaps, but I like soldier
The demoman is just an annoyance, both to play as and against.
Probably an annoyance to you as there are a lot of demomen out there that kill you, it seems. Afterall if you found them easy to kill, you wouldn't be complaining.
I'm a battle Engy anyways.
I tried being one yesterday and got fuuucked up.
As much as I disagree with what you're saying, I respect to the death your right to say it.
Way to botch that Voltaire quote, amigo.
What a dumbshit. Demo and Soldier are vital to TF2's balance. Who would be there to shoot pipe bombs and camp there until an enemy walks by to blow them up?
The hell is a solider

The Scout is also easy to understand as it's the most similar FPS style class in TF (run and shoot), but it also takes, in my opinion, the greatest skill to master. Not only do you have to be accurate and make every shot count (maybe not as much as a sniper, but still the most important aspect), but you also need a good head in order to flank enemies and catch them off guard and know when to retreat. It also takes some dexterity as to be able to dodge and move fluidly.
Does beating someone to death with scout's bat without dying count as a great skill to master?
I'll admit... I kinda have ill feelings towards going against Soldiers and Demos (as well as Pyros).
Though I can accept that these feelings are mostly spurred because I'm a career scout. Quite often a soldier or demo's reaction to me getting the drop on them is them mashing their spacebar and shooting their feet. Soldiers in particular seem to always get that magical crit which means instant death if it detonates anywhere remotely near me. =(
'Course I also get a bit steamed at those snipers who have nothing better t'do than shoot that scout when there are heavies, medics and all manner of classes all around me. =C
But I digress, I can understand that there is at least a marginal amount of skill required for either class, as I do play them under situations where it's necessary (Usually involving destruction of an engineer's nest.). However, even so they occupy my bottom two slots.
One thing that cheeses me a bit regardless is how maneuverable Soldiers and Demos can be... It's just not fair that they can get to places us Scouts can't. ;_; That is all.
who cares? crafting bro, thats where its at

Although this is clearly not ever going to happen in a public server: The Sniper might be taking you as a target of opportunity. As a Scout, you would remain in his killing field for a short amount of time, whereas the Heavy and Medic would be there much longer due to the Heavy's speed. He realizes that killing you will take you out of the battle for a bit, he's only got the one shot, and that he's got time to kill the Heavy and Medic.
That being said, in most situations: That's because the Sniper's a fucking dumbass.
I fucking love the Soldier. Easy to pick up, hard to master. Probably the most versatile class in terms of offensive and defensive capabilities. Of course, when I'm playing Scout I really hate running up against Soldiers, but hey, that's why they gave you the ability to run away.
Not a big demoman fan though, but I can't think of a better class for getting rid of an irritating sentry nest.
The Spy is not as straight forward other than backstabs = good. This class requires the highest perception of any in TF, as predicting enemy movements and actions is very important. The ambassador changes the class somewhat by rewarding precision but the class still takes brains over a quick hand.
Yep.. And my hand is slow.. :saddowns:
:flashfap:
There is no such thing as shit class. Only incompetent players
The soldier is great for newcomers, and the demoman is great for taking out sentry farms with an ubered medic.
Please stop complaining, you clearly don't know how to play this game, which explains your lack of hours.
Usually Engineers are so stupid that I can do it without a medic :smug:

Firstly, no I ain't. Secondly, it has nothing to do with the discussion. Thirdly, I'm pretty sure you are though.

I'd disagree on your point about the soldier. I'd argue that the Spy is actually the most versatile in terms of Offensive and Defensive. For offensive, he can take out the snipers and the engie nests so the rest of the team can get in. And for Defensive, he can quickly take out a medic/heavy combo to cripple an enemy attack.
sticky bombing is easy, anyone can do it. but using the canister takes skill.
